Button for copying navigation and topic name to clipboard?
Hey guys, So we've updated to H&M 7! When talking to our customers we often need to refer them to a particular topic, sometimes this can be 3-4 levels deep: https://i.imgur.com/M3yD9WO.png We usually highlight then copy-paste the bit after Navigation, but that now gets us: Navigation: Wiring Inf...

Translation + SVN + updating
Hi guys, I've moved out of engineering and into tech support and would you believe, no one has been maintaining our documentation and now they want me to overhaul it and shift it so I have to maintain it. I have 4-6 remote tech support staff who need to be able to contribute to the manual - I plan t...

Re: AppLocale + Windows 10
Thought I'd just drop in and let everyone know I've had good success with compiling manuals using Locale Emulator.

Re: AppLocale + Windows 10
Alright, I carried on searching around and found this: https://github.com/xupefei/Locale-Emulator I read basically no documentation and tried things until it worked, I'm still working through a few issues but I think it's a fairly solid option. I psuedo followed this guide to get the japanese fonts:...

AppLocale + Windows 10
Hi guys,
It seems as though Microsoft have pulled AppLocale off the interwebs.
You can find it with some google foo, but the websites look sketchy af.
Either way it refuses to install on my windows 10 machine.
Is there a new solution to compiling translated manuals?

Re: Bulk translation?
Hi Tim, ahh, I haven't got a "Batch-importing Translated Texts" in my Impict help.
The online manual here is also missing it? http://impict.com/
I have version 2.53 of Impict, do I need to update?

Bulk translation?
Hi guys, I have 200+ impict images that have been translated. Do I really have to go open -> open translation -> save -> close I realise I can open like 10-20 at a time and this way I don't have to fire up impict each time, but is there a command line tool or something I can use to get the xml file ...

Re: Images when manual is saved as .hmxP
For prosperity, Tim is spot on. I found that SDL Trados Studio 2014 was seeing the components of the embedded image as a word, the rigmarole of importing, attempting to translate etc over 250,000 words per file was slowing the whole process down by several orders of magnitude (10+ hours down to 5 mi...

Re: Images when manual is saved as .hmxP
I may have just solved this issue.
It appears these images are embedded.
I'll update this thread when I have a definite solution for legacy.

Images when manual is saved as .hmxP
Hi guys, I save my manual as an uncompressed xml manual, I then send the maps and topics folders to be translated. The translators are having a problem with a few files. They use SDL's Trados Studio 2014 to open the xml files for translation. Trados Studio reports that one file has nearly 250,000 wo...

Re: Command line error reporting
Hi David, This probably just means that someone has used non-ASCII characters in topic IDs, which is totally verboten. Only Latin ASCII characters are permitted in topic IDs. If you try to use characters from other character sets, accented characters or special characters of any kind except _ and -...

However for my Chinese version I get the following errors: [Error] Topic ???????????? does not exist or cannot be read. [Error] Topic ?????? does not exist or cannot be read. [Error] Topic ???????...
