Status for CHM file format?
Hi! Does anybody know the status of the CHM file format? Are there any plans for updates or is it basically a sunset mode product? As far as I know it's very old and has not been updated for almost two decades. Still, it's widely used, e.g. for the helpfile for Help & Manual 8. I looked up one o...

Necessary to renew licenses?
Hi,
Our company owns a number of Help & Manual 8 licenses. When my colleague tried to install version 8.4.4 she got the following error messages. Do we have to update the license or can we continue using it without maintenance/support?

Re: Sorting order in "Open Help Project" view
Hello again, I can move an item in the list but it won't stay in the position where I've pinned it. Instead, the latest opened and saved project gets the top position by default. I'd like to move and pin the projects in a fixed order, I believe this was how it worked in earlier versions. How can I a...

Re: Sorting order in "Open Help Project" view
Come to think of it, moving pinned projects up and down (i.e. sorting them manually) is actually what I want but how do I do that? Right-clicking on a project only gets me the options "Open", "Open in New Instance" and "Remove", no "Move up" or "Move down...

Sorting order in "Open Help Project" view
Can the sorting order be changed for pinned projects in the "Open Help Project" view? I think this feature was available in previous versions. I regularly work on twenty or thirty different projects and it would be nice to be able to organize them on screen.

Re: Background colour in table heading changes in H+M version 8
OK, I see. Do you know where in the Windows Registry that this is done, so I can point our build server guy in the right direction?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: Background colour in table heading changes in H+M version 8
Hello again! Apparently the problem described on January 4th remains when help files are published on our build server via command line (i.e. some table header rows get a white background color instead of grey). The H+M client on the build server has been updated to version 8 and the box "Use o...

Possible to edit "robots" tags in generated web help files?
Hello! Many of our help files are published as web help. We would like to change the setting in the "robots" tag in the published web help (see image below) to <meta name="robots" content=" noindex, nofollow ">. robots tag.png We'd like to do this to stop web search rob...

Re: Background colour in table heading changes in H+M version 8
OK, I'll use the option "Use old (wrong) table style assignment for heading rows". Our projects contain hundreds of tables (well, thousands if you count the translated versions) and going through all of them would be a massive and time consuming job. Given that the option is a "tempor...

Background colour in table heading changes in H+M version 8
We recently upgraded from H+M 7 to H+M 8.2.1. After the upgrade the following layout error appears in several table heading rows (i.e. not all but many). We use a style repository to ensure that the same text and table formats are used in all our H+M projects. The table formats in the repository hav...

How does floating a floating license work?
Our company is getting additional Help+Manual licenses. Four staff members already use H+M on a daily or weekly basis, and another six staff members will use H+M a bit more seldom. I'm thinking about getting a floating license for the six seldom-users. Would this be a good solution or are there any ...
