Putting Links at the top of the screen
Hi I have some long topics and I use Topic Anchors within them to create points that can be access using links from other parts of the topic or from elsewhere in the file. It would be handy if, when a user 'jumps' to a link, the material was positioned at the top of the screen. Can this be done? Tha...

Re: Links in imported .rtf
Thanks Martin Sounds like a great solution. Can you give me some basic advice on how to do this? When I output from Word, I only have the options of .htm or .mhtml. H&M does not see these as potential input files. I do get a message that it will allow me to input files in a second phase after pa...

Re: Links in imported .rtf
Hi Tim Thanks for the response. Is this something that might be resolved soon? I find it very difficult to work with my engineers, as they are updating the RTF (or Word) documents, so every update means recreating all the links by hand. You of course know your system 'from the inside' and I am comen...

Re: Single-page format
Hi Tim Depends what you mean by 'efficient'. I agree that for a large Help System, the single-page format is not right. But I also have several small projects where the Product Managers want to use a single-source file for both the Manual and the Help. Each document has many small sections oranized ...

Single-page format
I am importing a Word document, converted to rtf. Output is to be a .chm. I would very much like to have the output as a single-page html file. I could get a partial solution by exporting from Word as a single file web page, and then using the html import to a new H&M project. But I lose all the...

Links in imported .rtf
Hi
I am importing a Word doc - converted to .rtf. Imported internal links within the document do not work - not cross-ref/Hyperlinks in the document, and not the TOC links either. Suggestions please?

Re: Can I access/edit the Index in any way from the Basic H&
Okay, thanks - anyway, I manually tracked them down and deleted them. Should I meet the responsible previous TW, I will have a quiet word with him/her - I understand that it was between releases, and probably done as a quick way to create a to-do list, with the best of intentions of cleaning up afte...

Re: Can I access/edit the Index in any way from the Basic H&
Thanks Tim. I had already looked in the Help file ( isn't THAT unusual! ;-) ). Turns out, the previous TW - or one of them - had made his marginal notes by putting little reminders to himself in the ANCHOR keywords - sneaky!! Of course, this resulted in an index being produced, and pretty much no wa...

Can I access/edit the Index in any way from the Basic H&M6?
I have a few index entries in my (converted from HM4) project. I do not have the Professionl or Server versions of H&M6, and so I do not have access to the Index dropdown. Is there any way I can work with the Index entries manually/individually, without upgrading? (even if it is just to delete t...

How can I convert tables to text without losing formatting?
I have taken over an old, old Help system - which somewhere along the way was migrated to H&M (4). I have upgraded to H&M6, and continue to maintain/update. Most Topics are laid out in tables, I think as an artifact of the import process. How can I convert all of these to text, without losin...
