Save/Import/Export Search Path

Hi I know I asked a similar question a LONG time ago - and I'm optimistically hoping the answer might be closer. It would help me a lot if I could Save/Export/Import a project's Search Path in the same way that one can handle the variables list. I can achieve the 'Export' by using Notepad++ on a 'cu...

Why does my .pdf show a ''?'' in a link

HI I have a pdf with many internal links. The links should show the ToC numbering and the Topic title. Because I could not figure a way to link directly to the numbering of the .pdf ToC, I made two links - the first where I manually set the relevant ToC number, and the second link with the Topic Tit...

HI
Thanks Time.
I've passed this on to our developers.

Your support, as always, is amazing - much appreciated.

Re: Styles for .ipp objects - or import to HelpXplain

Thanks Tim - I'm on the edge of my chair! Regarding the eWriter - I need to update myself and our team urgently on this - I'll talk to our developers and see what the target machines are on which we install the application - we do have users on various Server editions rather than only simple 'Window...

Re: Roadmap for HelpXplain

Hi If you can bear it - back to the .ipp question, please! Since my original question, we have started implementing a new UI and have to update/create many hundreds of screenshots, many with callouts (mostly simple text callouts or outline rectangle/ellipses). These all exist as .ipp files. We can t...

Styles for .ipp objects - or import to HelpXplain

Hi I asked, a while ago, whether there could be some sort of 'style' capability in Impict. I know that the capability is now in HelpXplain - but then I asked the obvious question of whether I could import the .ipps into HelpXplain, etc. etc. and the answer was no :( . For background - we have hundre...

Re: Problems editing a Help&Manual Project (.hmxz)

Hi Tim Thanks for the quick response - that sounds like a clear summary. I'm guessing that the 'network lag' may be the culprit - especially because our system is pretty loaded at the moment as we prepare to move offices, and there is a lot of copying going on as people do backups. I will try moving...

Problems editing a Help&Manual Project (.hmxz)

For a while, I have a symptom that, when going to a topic and selecting anything (text, picture, table etc) using the mouse, the screen of the H&M window goes grey (other windows are unaffected.) I can move the mouse around, click to position it in a new place, etc fine. The symptom only happens...

Re: Roadmap for HelpXplain

Regarding the possibility of a conversion Tool from .ipp to Xplain: To Tim - I don't want to start any internal wars there, but Alexander said that a one-way conversion capability was already in the HelpXplain wish list  To Alexander - I would like to use the more sophisticated editing capabil...

Re: Roadmap for HelpXplain

Hi At the risk of sounding like a broken record, please consider putting the .ipp import/convert into an early revision. While everyone else can't wait to play with new goodies, those of us with big existing projects want to change over quickly so we can go forward without creating yet more legacy s...

Any way to take advantage of Xplain styles/themes in Impict

Hi Firstly - Congratulations - this looks like a great addition. and thanks for giving us another useful tool - this looks like it is going to help us enormously in an immediate tasks of adding step by step "how to's" to our Help files. We will definitely use the new tool for this. But at ...

Re: Possible bug in simultaneous users on a project

Thanks for the followup message. As I said, we are using VMs (and are in the process of upgrades/changes to support an office relocation (fun, fun, fun). ) I am pretty sure we are NOT using Windows Home on any of our laptops or workstations. But bottom line is that we rely heavily on the ability to ...

Re: Possible bug in simultaneous users on a project

Yup - that's it! The shared drive runs on a VM and we each have our own workstations. Not much we can do about it given our present setup - we are going to have to just control it the old fashioned way - talking to each other! Not ideal, but I don't see an alternative in the short term. Thanks for t...

Possible bug in simultaneous users on a project

HI We have three users each with professional licences, working on our projects. Most of our projects are located on a shared network drive so that anyone can access any project. We have relied on the 'lockout' which meant that if one of us has a topic open, then anyone else accessing the same topic...

Re: Image scaling

Back to HelpXplain and the Beta . . Can we have access to the Beta to try it out, please. If it is nearly ready for release, then given our volume of upcoming graphics work, I am seriously tempted to start using it (subject to your advice, of course). We use some inhouse tools for aggregating graphi...
