Problem with italics in .pdf

HI
I have a sentence set in Normal style.
I selected two words, and set them to Italics (separately).
The italicized words print in the .pdf offset several characters to the left.

What am I doing wrong?
Thanks
Rob

Re: Sub-project Variables in a master project

Urgent question: When specifying a graphic to be included, can the full path be explicit or is it ALWAYS relative? That is, if there are other files with the same name in other , more 'senior' folders in the search path, will H&M always take the first occurrence? No way to specify \folder\filena...

Re: Sub-project Variables in a master project

Hi That's bad - but it's about what I was expecting (still, a person can hope, can't they!) Thanks for the quick response. Rob (Another possible solution would be if there was a way to include a .pdf as the content of a topic. Any chance?) (And a wild suggestion - Is it worth opening a Wish-list ite...

Sub-project Variables in a master project

Hi I created many small projects to publish individual product installation guides. Each project has the same set of variable names (such as PROD_NUMBER, PROD_NAME, PROD_DESCR, etc.) To do this, I created one product guide, and then cloned it many times - I suppose I could have just made one and use...

ToC Problem

HI I just updated a template to give me a 5-level ToC Seems fine - but all of a sudden I get one rogue ToC entry that seems to superimpose on another. I've looked briefly to see that Topic Names are OK - it seems that they are - there are 3 ToC entries in different places called 'Network' (dont ask!...

Re: Merging two projects

HI I am trying to use the Toolbox to add Topic prefixes, and I am clearly dong something wrong. It goes like this: 1. I copy the project to a new folder. 2. Open the project using the Toolbox file explorer (using the dropdown to change the Search criteria to include 'Projects'. - Premium Pack Toolbo...

Re: Merging two projects

Thanks for the (as always) detailed and helpful reply. Our reason for merging the projects is that we had a Help file and a separate 'User Guide' in the days when people actually printed out their manuals. But they have grown apart over the last 5 years, however still with wide areas of overlap, a l...

Merging two projects

HI (There's a lot of background, but I'll start with just a simple question) If we want to combine two old projects into one new larger one, then duplicate topic names are going to be a danger. Is there any convenient way to do a global rename of topics (such as adding an 'x' to all topic names in o...

Re: Equivalent to Word's CTRL-Y (apply last edit)

Just to barge into the thread, I did put in a request to the wish list a long time ago for an equivalent to Windows F4 ('do it again') - I wonder if that will ever pay off?

Re: Variable for Total Number of Pages

Hi Tim
Thanks for the quick response as always - this is a great help.
No problem with length of time - we are using this for short documents that will actually be printed on paper rather than being read onscreen - I just don't want a field technician to think that he lost a page!

Variable for Total Number of Pages

Hi We are drawing up a new 'sparse' template to handle simple 'box opening' guidelines. The documents will usually be single pages, printed both sides, but in a few cases may run to 3 or even 4 sides. I plan to use a custom pdf template with the front 'cover' page set up with embedded custom heading...

Heading Format in .pdf

Hi I am outputting to .pdf. In the middle of the document, the document Heading2 level suddenly changes format, giving a weird half-line drop after the paragraph number, with the heading text lower. (screenshot attached). Numbering in preceding headings is OK. I have tried opening the .mnl, making a...

Re: Problems with HHReg

Thanks Tim. The problem only arose now when I was allocated a shiny new Windows 10 monster workstation. I was trying to find a workaround. I didn't know it was as final as that! Been using HHReg for years. Pity to have the rug pulled out like that, but it's of course not your fault. A WebHelp, etc s...

Re: Problems with HHReg

. . and now I have also tried mapping the drive in File Explorer - now I can see the mapped location, but I still cannot open .chm files in the target location.

(just saying . . .)
