Problems with HHReg

HI I have just moved my H&M environment to a new Windows 10 machine (Previous env was on Windows 7). All our H&M projects 'live' on a network location which we have mapped as a drive on our local machines. On the old system, I had registered several folders on the network drive in HHReg, and...

Images with or without dimension overlay

HI
Just out of interest - I have a table with two images (both .ipps, both in the same folder, both shown at 50%). While working in the editor, one has the panel showing the graphic dimensions, one does not.
Is there a reason?

Editing Snippets

Hi I created a snippet by selecting part of a Topic, going to the File drop-down in the Explore icon on the ribbon, and selecting 'Save Snippet'. I've used the snippet in a number of projects, always using the 'linked' option. How can I edit the snippet in the editor? (so that I can use your great W...

Re: Putting links to merged project in the main project

Found a partial solution - I had saved the Child project as an .hmxp - changing this to .hmxz helped - I can now drag Tropic links by selecting ToC entries into the place where I want the link.
They still do not show in the Link Tool.
But it's a start . . . .

Re: Putting links to merged project in the main project

Hi Tim Thanks for the response. Putting it in your wording - when I open the Link tool in the main project, it does not show the topics that are in the child project. The attached screenshot shows a portion of the long ToC (that includes the child project), and you should see that the child topic 'L...

Putting links to merged project in the main project

Hi We have a very large 'Old Project' that contains the Help and User Manual for our main application. (It is published s a .chm and as a .pdf) I recently wrote a 'Guide to setting up new functionality' as a stand-alone smaller project. Both projects are saved as .hmxp. The smaller project was added...

Re: How to create TOC of tables

Yes, I am using that template (renamed and saved in my folders). Yesterday I DID manage to get a ToF to appear - but after a lot of trial-and-error. I still don't get how to easily link styles in the template to styles in the project - am still editing in the output file each time I publish. Formatt...

Re: How to create TOC of tables

Thanks. I have tried really hard to get the function to work in Word - even though this condemns me to set up the Word template to match my existing pdf style. Key points: - Getting my front page and boilerplate stuff to match has not been easy. The H&M pdf layout page with its separate tabs for...

Re: How to create TOC of tables

Hi Was there any public follow-up? We publish in .pdf, and need a ToF as well as the ToC. I was wondering if anything is happening on this front. I suppose we could publish in .doc and then convert, but it will be a lot of unwelcome effort, especially as we have spent a lot of time fine-tuning the d...

'Paintbrush' to update properties of Impict entities

HI Could we have a simple 'paintbrush'-type tool that would allow an Impict user to select an entity (like a callout box), and then copy its properties to other similar entities. Would be very useful when changing a look-and-feel. for example if current Callouts have a yellow, 2-pixel border, and bl...

Add Variables in Project to the Project Report

Could we add a pane in the Report Options that would create a 'Variables used in the Project' list, and linked to the occurrences. (Like the 'Images' list). It would be handy to be able to go through the list and check on each instance of the variable - for one thing, to check on syntax where singul...

Re: Managing Variables

Thanks - even if I didnt get answers that would have suited me :frustration: - your points, of course all make sense. But I will put the request in to the Wish list - at least that 'Variables in the project' is added to the Reports. Perhaps my problem of variables and conditionals is a little too sp...

Managing Variables

HI Over time, my set of projects has built up long lists of variables, many of them no longer in use. Some questions: 1. Is there a way to make a list of 'Variables actually in use (or NOT in use) in this project'? I'd like to go through each of my projects and prune the unused variables. 2. Is ther...

Re: 'Paintbrush' for Impict entities?

Hi Yes - I wasn't that hopeful about a 'real' batch process. But there might be a way (when an .ipp file is open for editing) to copy properties from one entity to another - so, for example, one could update one callout to the required look-and-feel-, and then copy the properties to the other existi...

'Paintbrush' for Impict entities?

Hi We have a skin change - so I need to bulk-update some properties in a LOT of callouts - things like font, background and font color, and outline color. Is there any way to 'copy' properties across a set of callouts? (I do know that a new callout will open with the 'current' characteristics, and I...
