What is helpman_topicinit.js and can I get rid of it?

Hello, I am using Help and Manual to generate page content for our website through the WebHelp output. All of the generated pages include the following line: <script type="text/javascript" src="helpman_topicinit.js"></script> In order to not include this file ( we don't want to h...

Re: Rogue Topic still listed in search results...

Thanks, Tim - I do believe it is on a proxy. As long as I know it won't affect the customers.

Rogue Topic still listed in search results...

Hello, I've a rogue topic that still appears when I search my frame-based web help, but only from my computer?? I deleted the topic and all referrers then saved the project. I then manually deleted all contents in the output folder ( crtl-a to select all, delete in the folder ) and regenerated the W...

Re: Question about contents of generated HTML

Thanks for the information. We've managed to get what we have working for us now. It's the classic case of it needs to be done yesterday so just make it work for now and we'll come back to it later.

Question about contents of generated HTML

Hello, I am using HM5 to create "landing pages" for our corporate website. These landing pages need to follow certain guidelines for style and for required content for search engine optimization (SEO). I am using a custom HTML template that wraps the topic with the necessary php includes t...

Re: Need HTML files named with dashes instead of underscores

Tim,

I did manage to work around this by also supplying a title for each image as well. IE will display the title if the caption is blank. I have to check this on other browsers (Mozilla, Chrome, etc) to see what their behaviour is.

Re: Need HTML files named with dashes instead of underscores

Tim, Sorry to be so nit-picky, and I don't know if you can do anything about this, but changing the css style to hide any captions does hide the caption and keep the alt attribute, but also causes an annoying blank hover tooltip to appear when I mouse over the image. Can anything be done? Thanks aga...

Re: Need HTML files named with dashes instead of underscores

Tim, Wow, you guys are amazing. Thanks for the CSS style code for hiding the captions. I'm mostly just a content girl and I pass all that off to the web guy so I've only dipped my toes into the CSS world. I can work around the underscores in my html names by renaming the files manually as I only hav...

Re: Need HTML files named with dashes instead of underscores

Tim, Thanks for the reply. I have another question that also stems from search engine optimization (SEO). I want to add alt attribute text to my images, but I don't want the text caption below the image. Google uses the alt attribute images to index the image content, as it cannot see the image cont...

Need HTML files named with dashes instead of underscores

Hello, Is there any way to make HM5 create WebHelp pages named using the "em dash", or -, instead of underscores? I need to have a group of pages exported as my-web-page.html instead of my_web_page.html in order to comply with Google's search engine optimization rules. If my page is my_web...

Tim,

I'm using the indent toolbar button on the Write tab. The topic is a snippet that is later inserted into a topic based on a customized HTML template.

Thanks,

Indented Image with Anchor is not Indented in HTML output

Hello, I have an image that I would like indented. If I have an anchor in front of the image, the indent is lost when I create the html output. My current work-around is to place the anchor after the image - this retains the indenting in the resulting HTML file. Is this a bug or am I doing something...

Hyperlinks to Anchors in Re-useable Snippet

I have a snippet that has two hyperlinks at the top to anchors within the snippet itself. The snippet is named Excel, the links goes to Excel#Single and Excel#Multiple . The snippet is marked as Include in builds - None as I am re-using the snippet and just want my main topics in my output. In my ma...
