Keywords/sub-keywords to combine

Unread post by VictorL »

Hi!

All keywords/sub-keywords I added in a proper topics reflecting fine in CHM being as the keywords.

But after an Index Page in PDF used I found something strange.

All keywords/sub-keywords even with same domain to link having a different strings in Index Page...

How I can add the keywords/sub-keywords to combine same words in Index Page by one and only string but with different page numbers only?

Example:
AS-IS:
Topic 1's keywords/sub-keywords:
Report1|report1

Topic 2's keywords/sub-keywords:
Report2|report1

Topic 3's keywords/sub-keywords:
Report3|report1

Index Page:
Report1|report1 - 3 page
Report2|report1 - 310 page
Report3|report1 - 673 page

TO-BE:
Index Page:
report1 - 3, 310, 673 pages

Note: report1 is same report but including in different pages.

Thanks a lot!

That's not possible with sub-keywords. You would need to create additional main keyword entries for those terms.

Is it right?
Keyword Report 1 being in Topic 1, Topic 2, Topic 3 in Index Page will be shown as Report 1 - 3, 310, 673 (but Report 1 must be added as keyword but as not subkeyword).

Of course. That is the only possibility. You can't have separate entries like that for sub-keywords. That couldn't work because sub-keywords don't exist without their parent keywords. That is how all indexes work.

Hello, Tim! I have a little question. In H&M7, just like in H&M6, the same rule applies, right?

Yes, same thing: By definition, a sub-keyword must belong to a main keyword. Otherwise it can't be a sub-keyword; then it must be a main keyword.
