Subversion Ignore

Unread post by Wayne Chen »

I used TortoiseSVN to ignore a folder, then when I went into Help and Manual and selected Synchronize SVN the items in the ignored folder were included in the file list to commit. Just wondering if the built in subversion is meant to support the svn ignore function?

Hi Wayne,

Help & Manual doesn't register ignored items at the moment because from its point of view they look like "new" items, and it currently automatically synchronizes all new items added to your project folder (generally things like image files etc). We may add an ignore feature in a future version, but I can't promise that it will be possible. At the moment, however, everything you put in your project folder will get versioned.

Hi Tim,

Thanks for the reply. Not a serious issue since I can just use TortoiseSVN to commit anyway.

Cheers,
