Set Topic status: bug scrambling content

Unread post by chris were »

v8.0.0 build 5443

(I can and have just reproduced this behaviour)

I had a small hierarchy of topics I had just copied and pasted from another project.
I was preparing to clean them up, replace images etc, and in preparation I expended all the branches, selected the range, and right-click set topic status to "under construction".

then boom...The content of the highlighted topics gets scrambled somehow. see attached picture
topic status bug.png
This happens right on the set topics status action. Its happened before and I hadn't noticed it until later, quite a headache to unpick, in this case I'll just dump the edits and start again.
It may be important; none of these topics had been saved before I changed status. If I save them first, the scramble does not happen.

Here's what got reconnected to what:
  • Line Charges TOC entry now has the Total Charge content
(as shown above)
  • Machine Time charge is correct
  • Material Charge has the Nest Based content
  • Nest Based has Nest+
  • Part Based has Other Line Charges
  • Nest+ has Running the calculation
  • Consumables Charge has Discounts and markups
  • OtherLine charges is correct
  • Extra processing has Quote Calculations
  • Discounts and markups has Running the calculation
  • Total Charge has running the calculation
  • Running the calculation has nest+
It can be quite a big issue I think!!!

Thanks,
Chris

Hi Chris,

Yes, this is a big issue. However, it was already solved a long time ago. The problem is that your copy of Help+Manual is badly out of date and doesn't include the fix. Please download and install the update to the current build right away:

https://www.helpandmanual.com/downloads.html?upd

Sorry for the inconvenience. However, please do always check your current version and update if necessary before posting bugs.
