Hi - is it possible to publish a webhelp project without a table of contents?

Hi Kristen,

Yes. Start a new Webhelp project. At Configuration > Publishing Options > Webhelp > Layout select No Frames.

On the Publish page for WebHelp, at Select Skin scroll to the bottom and click Remove Skin.

After publishing, the TOC, Index and Search functions will each be on a separate web page. If you don't upload them, they won't exist in your published Webhelp and you will have only the topic pages.

Of the three, the Index is by far the most important, so your users will likely need that to have a usable web site. You can edit the HTML template for it to make it more prominent and significant, and to remove the links to the TOC and Search. It is worth spending plenty of time on compiling it, in addition to writing the topics. H&M has great indexing functions and capability. For your less-savvy users, it is worth changing the title from "Keyword Index" to "A-Z Index".

cheers,

Martin.
