Exporting to eWriter Ignores Choice of .HTM File Extension

Unread post by Olivier Beltrami »

Hello,

When I use H&M 8.2 to export to the eWriter format, I am unable to force the generated HTML files (in the temp folder) to use the .HTM file extension. Below are the settings I am using in both H&M and my skin.

Very best regards,

Olivier

Hi Olivier,

At the moment you can't change that with the V3 eWriter skins. The file extension in these skins is determined by the extension of the internal index.html file, not by your project or skin settings. This is essential because the extension of the index.html and topic files must match in these skins, unlike older skins where they can be different. Since you don't have an option to define the extension of the index.html file in eWriter you can't change it.

I'll see if this can be changed in a future update but it doesn't have very high priority. 8)

Hi Tim,

Actually, the post-processing for eWriter files turns-out to be so different from the one for WebHelp and CHM, that I ended-up writing a new module for the eWriter format.

Very best regards,

Olivier
