Good day
We make use of downloadable guides in the online help. The pdf downloads on the same page as the help, so the only way to navigate back to where you were in the help is to use the internet back arrow. Is there any way to get the pdf to open on a new tab so the user would not inadvertently navigate out of the help?
Thanks
Carol

Re: Downloadable PDFs for online content
Hi Carol,
Use an Internet Link instead of a file link and set the target window option in the link dialog to New Window. So long as the PDF file is in the same folder as the WebHelp you just need to enter the filename as the address. The filename should not contain any spaces, non-alphanumeric characters, accented characters, umlauts etc. and should not begin with a number. Then it should open in a new tab, or in the PDF reader, depending on the user's settings.
Note also that in the current version of Help+Manual 8 (8.4.1 Build 5881) links from one PDF to another will also open the linked PDF in a new instance.
