Hi Mike, If you switch to the "Simple Layout Tab" you are deleting the custom template and switching to the standard Help & Manual template. If you save after doing this there is no way to recover it, you have wiped it from the face of the earth. You need to locate the <%TABLE_OF_CONTE...

I understand the problem with trying to find intelligent solutions for non-breaking characters, over-long words and so on. However, this is clearly an example of the clever solution being much, much worse than the problem it is trying to solve in the first place. The result is a broken editor that c...

At some point making pictures smaller stops making any sense. It would seem to me that 32 pixels is a pretty good minimum limit for shrinking images... I don't know if that's the limit in H&M but if I was making an image that small even smaller I'd want to do it manually and interactively with a...

Hi Erik, Every program has its own style and it always seems that things are missing when you switch from one to another. You'd probably have many similar experiences if you were switching from H&M to ForeHelp. People switching from Windows to OS X or from OS X to Windows go through the same thi...

Jessica, Why would you want a keyword that matches the topic title? That would be redundant. Users click in the TOC to access the topic with that title, they don't look for it in the index. Topic titles shouldn't be in the index. The index should only contain keywords that are really relevant to the...

Hi Andrey, I'm not sure about the searching but as far as I know the problem with copying Russian and some other languages is an Adobe Reader/Acrobat problem. I've seen this in lots of PDFs, not just those created by Help & Manual. If you try to copy the text it doesn't copy properly, the font o...

You really do need to edit the .js file -- it looks as though it's hard-coded and doesn't change no matter what you enter for the .highlight class. That makes sense, because there's no way that H&M can know what you've entered in the manually-edited code of the template. Maybe this should be an ...

Sorry, my bad. I use AJC Active Backup, it rocks. :D

A similar product, as far as I can tell, for the same price is Keepsafe by Stardock One of the disadvantages of Keepsafe is that it doesn't add all existing files to the archive. Every time you add a folder to Instant Backup's archive it asks you whether you want to add all existing matching files ...

Windows Vista test experiences?

Has anyone else in the H&M community been testing the recent free Release Candidate versions of Windows Vista? I have for the last couple of weeks and I must say that after all the hype I am very unimpressed and disappointed. Take away the pretty new interface and other eye candy and I see very ...

Hi Alex, André,

I can duplicate this. It works fine with normal "English" quotes but fails when you use the special „German style“ quotes. See the screenshot of André's example below.
