Re: Setting eWriter custom icon

the icon is associated with the file type, not with a specific instance of the file. In the same way you can't assign different icons to individual Word .docx files. Tim's right. But you can assign custom icons to shortcuts to files, maybe that would help. [screenshot] Custom icons for shortcuts to...

Re: Import RTF-file to an existing topic using available RTF-chapter-structure as sub-topics

standard Word Heading 1 ... Heading 6 styles are used for the outline headings. Actually I think H+M uses the outline level of styles, not their names. Of course for Heading 1 ... Heading 6 the outline levels are 1 .. 6. But there's nothing to stop you assigning outline levels to any other paragrap...

Would it make sense to ship uncompressed versions of the HelpXplain js files along with the product?
They're already there, in a subfolder of the HelpXplain program directory. 8)
Sorry, I meant not minimised.

Re: Show different image / animation depending on what browser being used?

Did you work that out from reverse engineering the output? The documentation for xplain.play() says "This takes no parameters." That was the information I had when I originally wrote the documentation. New information from Alexander is now that this can be used and is actually needed if you also wa...

Re: Variable Text for topics "Not Complete"

Is it possible to use an IF/THEN (not sure what that trigger is called) where the entire line would be visible or hidden depending on whether the status is complete or not? By doing that, only non-complete topics would contain the text "Topic Status:" and completed topics would show nothing? If you...

That variable should definitely return a value for Complete as well. I'm adding this to the ToDo list for our developers. :)
That could be a breaking change, Tim. It would be better to add a new status (e.g. 'Final', 'Finished' etc) and leave the behaviour of 'Complete' unchanged.

Re: Show different image / animation depending on what browser being used?

The only functions missing in the documentation that are relevant (and will soon be added) are: ... Thanks for that, Tim. I think there is also an undocumented method for going directly to a specific slide, by appending # n to the URL. Is that officially supported? If so, it would be useful to expo...

Re: Show different image / animation depending on what browser being used?

have I missed something as would be handy to have all available 'commands' for xplain. in the help, and explanation of what the switches such as true means in this case? Mmm, goto() isn't one of the commands documented at https://www.helpandmanual.com/help/gf-developers_gscripts.html. If you can fi...

Re: Show different image / animation depending on what browser being used?

Having multiple Xplains for this would seem like overkill for what is basically a simple task. I would use a single Xplain with a single slide for each set of browser instructions. @Darren, I was thinking you could animate the "how to download" sequence separately for each browser, so instead of ha...

Re: Show different image / animation depending on what browser being used?

Any pointers appreciated as not spent much time using Xplain yet - although I know I really should be making use of its abilities for things like this. I imagine it's going to be something like... Have one "router" xplain that detects the browser, which then "chains" to the actual browser-appropria...

Re: Show different image depending on what browser being used?

How can I insert this script into a specific point of my page and how do I replace the document.write with code to show specific image? Quick answer (I'm busy today!) rather than using an image, maybe think about putting the code into the start of a HelpXplain, and have it jump to the relevant inst...

Re: Show different image depending on what browser being used?

The use case is for several pages on my website with instructions for customers to download an executable file - a lot of my user base are not very tech savvy so rather than lots of different instructions covering different browsers I wanted to only show the browser instructions relevant to the bro...

Re: Show different image depending on what browser being used?

Bowser might do it? I've not tried that personally but its GitHub repo has 4.4k stars and 460 forks, so probably isn't too shabby.
