Re: snipx images missing in .epub and .mobi format
ePub is unfortunately still decades behind any other HTML renderer because most developers still assume it is only used for things like novels with maybe the occasional simple illustration. We're going to have to switch to plain PNG for ePub and Mobi export. Sigh... Could the PNG vs SVG expo...

Re: No SVG animation in eWriter output?
The WebView2 component is based on the Chromium/Blink engine that is also used in MS Edge and Google Chrome, and that does have full support for current SVG standards. Unfortunately, Microsoft hasn't rolled out WebView2 completely. If we switch eViewer to WebView2 prematurely, it will stop working ...

Re: Translating SnipSVG
Hi Tim Yes absolutely agree: the blur must be irreversable in an SVG output image. But currently the blur is permanent in the SnipX file too. I was thinking of a potential additional feature for a later release where a blur can be overlaid as an movable/sizable/removable object in SnipSVG, that's ap...

Translating SnipSVG
Quick report on translating a "snip": Having created in one language, e.g... Process Control.png ...you can replace the screenshot and re-write the text easily... Control de proceso.png Possible enhancements for a future release: Blur effect also available as an overlay object, so the imag...

SnipSVG works well with Outlook and PowerPoint 365
The need for documentation is often triggered by an emailed support question and reply. Outlook 365 seems to have no problem rendering pasted or inserted SnipSVG annotated screenshots like this one from an SAP system: Process Control.png In my tests this works in Outlook 365 web viewer and the deskt...

Re: HelpXplain XML schema?
Hi Alexander Thanks for the feedback. I think for our use case - which is mainly re-purposing/translating - we can simply replace files in the zipped xplain: there's usually a 1-to-1 equivalent, so it isn't essential to understand the XML. The goal was never to replace HelpXplain, just to scaffold i...

Re: HelpXplain XML schema?
Hi Tim
Yes, I know about Helpman_XML_Ref.chm
I was wondering whether there was something similar for HelpXplain, documenting elements like <frame> <spotlight> <calloutshape>, the <VisualElements> configuration etc.
Thanks,
Simon

HelpXplain XML schema?
Is the HelpXplain project file XML schema documented anywhere?
I was thinking of testing Altova StyleVision as a starting point to pre-populate projects.
Thanks for any info

Re: SVG arrow head problems
I agree, for SVG, go for the lowest common denominator (but, please allow SVG fragment references). The auto-start-reverse seems to be SVG 2.0 per https://www.w3.org/TR/svg-markers/#MarkerElement, which also suggest auto is ambiguous. FYI when I tried saving and loading Greg's svg, I got these resul...

Re: Flow chart integration
I am currently creating flowcharts for our machine process via https://app.diagrams.net ... exports to PNG/SVG/PDF/XML/HTML and can generate custom links. I'm trying to think of a way to link each step in the flowchart to the relevant topic in H+M, but I can't for the life of me think of a way to d...

And now for something completely different: I wonder how many people in this forum are that old to recognize where the title is quoted from  /Gerold I'm not old enough to confirm this  but I think that reference goes back to At Last the 1948 Show (1967) and was one of the ideas carried ...

Re: Integrating WebHelp in SharePoint
I tried this a year ago and it works. This is what I learned... You need to have admin access to a newly created site. You have to run some PowerShell scripts to enable H+M content. Fiddly but not a barrier. It worked for me. I was going to write it up but I didn't think anyone would be interested: ...

Maybe you should send a failing file to Tim for checking. Alexander found the problem in the sample I sent him, perhaps yours is related?Gerold Krommer wrote: ↑Tue Jul 27, 2021 8:59 pm I was told MS Visios SVG contains MS specific extensions and I have yet to find a Visio SVG that imports correctly.
