Re: Significant PDF size discrepancy between machines
The source and published PDF is kept in a locally checked out Git file structure. When publishing for release that output is generated into a local non-git folder then (post action) copied into the Git structure. I'll get the two different files sent over in a few days once I get back into the office.

Re: Significant PDF size discrepancy between machines
Trust me, at this point in time, after this many iterations, no question is too silly :) The machine is now officially "haunted". I WISH I had just recorded my entire screen over the past 30 minutes to prove I'm not insane. This MORNING as I reviewed everyone's replies and prepared to try ...

Re: Significant PDF size discrepancy between machines
Sampled the problem document and another similar in page count yet only 30mb in size. They both include 14 fonts. There are allot of images (189 png files/23mb) and Image Quality is set to JPEG 100% (good quality) on both machines. Another thing I'll try later today is installing H&M on a 3rd ma...

Re: Significant PDF size discrepancy between machines
Thanks for the great info and details. I see I was on the correct path prior to submitting the post. I thought about font embedding but if anything the problem machine has more fonts installed than the other one. I did assume what you said (it's a project level setting) but also verified matched set...

Significant PDF size discrepancy between machines
Republishing 20+ manuals today. All but 1 is 30mb or below in size. One of the manuals that used to be 31mb is now 161mb. The only difference being the machine the manual is published on. Both machines running 8.32.5795 on Win10 Pro. One machine has a fixed license, the other is using a floating lic...

Publish Task / HTML / Index Page location
Should I be able to use %TEMP% in this field? For example: %TEMP%\pp-manuals\Web\01-Intro and Basics\index.html I want the generated HTML in a temp folder, then a Build Event packages it into a ZIP located in yet another folder. No matter what I enter in the Index Page field it's pre-pended with the...

Re: Hide Page Header automatically invoked
Thanks. I'll share that with the web team. I'm using a V4 skin that renders and fills perfectly in it's native view from the generated code.

Re: Hide Page Header automatically invoked
Now I'm just noticing some extra space at the bottom. Is there a way to have H&M just fill the entire iframe it's in?

Re: Variables in Output File Name
@half-bit - you might be able to make use of Task Manager to accomplish your goal. I was wishing for variable support in the output filename as well. In my case I'm already using Task Manager in H&M to define the production output and then added a Post Build Event to process that output file. In...

Re: Publish Task / Build Events
Also, regarding the Command argument below, it seems this command has to be in the SAME path on every machine? I can't enter a command without navigating directly to it. When I specify executable programs or batch files in my Path, OK remains disabled. I'm trying to setup something that works on ANY...

When specifying a build event, are relevant paths not allowed?

Re: Publish Task / Compiler Messages
Well, I have 1 task, with 2 actions in it. Each action has a post-build event - which is a batch file. When I execute Publish Task, it queues both actions and runs them in sequence. When finished, the Compiler Messages shows the full output of the batch file from ONLY the last action. The reason for...

Publish Task / Compiler Messages
When I have multiple actions in a task, only the output from the last action is reported in the Compiler Messages. Is that expected?

Re: Hide Page Header automatically invoked
Thanks Tim! The 'iframe' we're loading the help in is 99% help content. So it doesn't take away much from the view. I'll pass along the code you provided to the dev team to consider.

Hide Page Header automatically invoked
When I load my generated Webhelp content into an iframe, the page header closes just after the page is loaded. Any thoughts on why that happens? iframe_test.html <iframe src="./index.html" style="height:100%; width:100%;" /> When I load iframe_test.html, the page header slides aw...
