Re: Links Within a Topic Do Not Work in Netscape 7

Links Within a Topic Do Not Work in Netscape 7 I set up a bunch of inline anchors then linked to them using the topic link (choosing the subanchors). However, they only work in IE and not Netscape. Ok this is kinda a bug in H&M, but it is because the gecko group of browsers have become more ped...

Martin, hmmm - To me all are valid assumptions and probably many other countries would not have a problem. We would see it as an issue of context not meaning. Do not know of any sites out there that suggest a way to write a help file to avoid the problem. I would suggest that you keep a list of word...

Ozone Freeze. If you did not understand the tutorial, then do some research on HTML and CSS. I would suggest you start here - http://www.w3schools.com/default.asp For example on your problem, you can set the background colours, link colours, and more, all in one place. But to do that you can make mi...

Maybe, but - I can see the help requests now to support - we need to change something in the help file and an employee that has since left locked the project with a password. I would also think twice about working for a company where workmates sabotage the company help file project :D Are you sure i...

ZPAINT

Have been helping the local soccer (football for you European's) club build their website, and in my search for buttons came across this little paint program. http://www.steffengerlach.de/freeware/ If you want a simple tool that produces 3D buttons or more, this is a must. It is small at 286kb, so i...

I seem to remember that someone else had the same problem. They used HTML Help workshop to create a CHM from all their HTML files, and then used H&M to decompile the CHM (decompile as a new project). It also does not work perfectly, but did save a lot of time. Hmmm - I wonder what would happen i...

OLE objects

I would like to see a few changes to the functionality for OLE objects. Based on http://helpman.it-authoring.com/viewtopic.php?t=1120 Don't know if they are possible. 1) When inserting a File, and Linking the file, it would be great if H&M recognised either ranges or named areas, especially for ...

Just a further guess but I think you are talking about the BOOK ICONS - being the Book, then child books and then topics. If that is the case, we refer to them as Headings or Topics Top Level Heading or Topic (Chapter) --Second Level Heading or Topic ----Third Level Heading or Topic ------etc down t...

Alex I am assuming here that the 4 byte integer relates to the Build options, not Output Format, although currently the topic build checkboxes, list Output formats as well. If so -There are currently 10 build options (Not including the ALL build option). Obviously the names for each integer 4 html H...

Builds and Output format

There have been request to change the User Defined Build names 1, 2, & 3. Not sure if the following as previously been suggested. What I would like to see is all of the build names to be a list that the User builds themselves, and it to be divorced from output format entirely. (Except for the Al...

From all indications H&M Ver 4, will have better tables, as it will not use an engine based on Wordpad which does not support Tables at all.
