Re: Glossary / DeepL - preventing duplicates? Is it even necessary?

Hi Dave,

I doubt whether it hurts but for efficiency's sake you should probably delete them anyway -- just as a matter of principle and good practice. 8)

Re: Page not included in TOC appears in CHM search index

Hi Martin, This isn't a bug. What is happening is that something is forcing the inclusion of that topic without a TOC entry, which is both perfectly possible and sometimes desirable -- for example for topics that you only want to show in response to a hyperlink. Here are the possible causes: You exc...

good idea, simple math. But is this the way it is designed?
Pretty much so, yes. Each instance of a variable increments it, so if you use it twice in the same table you need to do something to prevent incrementation the second time.

Re: Unicode symbols cannot be selected in PDF output

Hi Martin,
Huh, but then how do you explain that in some circumstances, as explained earlier, I can select them?
I haven't looked into this in exhaustive detail (this is information from the HM developers) but my guess would be that not all symbols need to be converted. 8)

Re: Invalid Variable Value

Hi Gerold,

Why not set the first instance of the variable to =1 and the second to -1 to force it to be the same number?

Re: Invalid Variable Value

Hi Gerold, Is the backslash correct here? No. That is just used to prevent variables from being evaluated in Help+Manual output. It's used in the documentation to enable the variables to be shown in examples and shouldn't be visible in the output. What's happening is that the backslash isn't being s...

Re: Variables and Custom Highlighter

Hi DeWayne, I'm afraid this is the same problem as using Help+Manual variables in JavaScript and HTML source. No syntax highlighter on earth is going to be able to format that correctly. It drives me crazy all the time in skin development but there is really nothing you can do about it except just g...

Re: Command Line call randomly hangs

If I pass all the necessary arguments to a start a cmd-file (cmd.exe /c compilehelp.cmd), it works. I'm afraid that was what I was going to suggest as well. Help+Manual's CLI hasn't been tested in PowerShell... I have found a solution, but I shall burn in hell eternally for it: Nah, you're g...

Re: Command Line call randomly hangs

Hi "d",

Can you provide an echo of the command line that is actually being executed? That would be the first step to working out if you are actually creating a valid command line or not.

Re: Bullet color will not change

Hi Kathleen,

I can't reproduce this. There is probably some simple error here. Please send a small demo project to support AT ec-software.com (replace the AT with @) and I'll check it for you. :)

Re: Include content from wiki in pdf output

Thanks -- any workarounds? Not if you want the content to be merged on publishing. You can import HTML pages into your topics directly, of course, but that then becomes part of the topic page and doesn't update after that. I would suggest just including a hyperlink to the URL of the wiki page. 8) P...

Re: PDF: Table or table cell with width of content

Hi Markus, There's a trick you can use to achieve this: Turn off word wrap for the paragraph you are using to "size" the table. Then the text is an unresizable block, just like a graphic. Then in the table properties select the selected cells tab and set the preferred width to something slightly les...

Re: Include content from wiki in pdf output

Hi John,

The #MERGE command only inserts HTML directly into the page without any conversion, and it is only exported to HTML formats. That rules out PDF and Word, since they are not HTML. :?

Re: Need to replace skin "sky_blue_horiz"?

Hi Chfr,

I'm afraid that there are no longer any skins that look exactly like that. The closest to it are probably the V2 skins in the current Premium Pack.

Re: eWriter password prompt - always on top

Hi Martin,

Thanks for the suggestion but here I'm just passing on the response from the eViewer developer so I'm afraid I can't intervene in how it's implemented... :?
