Re: eWiewer <Ctrl>+<0>

Hi Horst,

Note that CTRL+0 with the regular number keys actually already works. The 0 from the number pad has a different scan code. 8)

That would be practical. Thanks for posting.

Hi Julio,

Sorry, I did misunderstand you. We will check into the issue with the table style names.

I am using the Word output (not the PDF output).
The orientation change is currently only for PDF, not for Word. :?

Re: Problem with Arabic PDF output

Hi Noha, Help+Manual 8 outputs Arabic as glyphs (little graphics instead of text). The text is not searchable or selectable, and the files are very large, but it looks OK. You can test this with the free trial version that you can download here: https://www.helpandmanual.com/downloads.html It will r...

Re: Export Style Names behavior with WebHelp Output

Hi Julio, This works in CHM because the CHM viewer uses IE, which is very forgiving about characters like this used in HTML. In other browsers they will cause errors. I checked with our developers and they say that if you are using characters like this in your style names in WebHelp you must either ...

Re: Batch publish - override output path in a task

Is it possible to override the output path specified in the task when executing via batch file? No, tasks are always executed as a full block when you call them from the command line. If you want granular control like that you need to put everything in the batch file. Or just create another action ...

Re: Dropping in file links

Any pointers on setting the file location? This is a little confusing when making the link. The point here is that when creating file links you are not creating a link now, but planning a link for the future. Where the link needs to point depends entirely on where the file is going to be located in...

Re: Dropping in file links

Hi Gareth,

I just tried it out and you're right -- that's a limitation I wasn't aware of. I'm sure it's an easy fix and I'm passing it on to our developers for the ToDo list. 8)

Re: Adding "Locate" button to HTML help

Hi Bruno, I just checked this, both in HM's own CHM help and newly-generated CHMs and it is working fine. However, note that the automatic highlighting in CHM in Windows 10 doesn't make the same clear blue highlight that you see when you select a topic manually. It is just a very light grey backgrou...

Re: List of Anchor Names and Context IDs

You can't generate a list of just anchors, but the Long Report in the Report tool is the shortest report that will include anchors and any context IDs attached to them. The report will also include keywords defined with anchors, but they will be listed together with the keywords defined for the page...

Re: Embed a PDF in a PDF

Is that how it is supposed to work? Yes. It used to be set up to actually replace the current PDF but in 8.2 this has been changed to a new tab, which is more practical, because PDF links don't have a "Back" option at all. This is a restriction of the PDF format. Leaving the original PDF open in th...

Hi Javier, I can't get the latex syntax to work with the new helpandmanual feature for equations. Has anyone used it? :typing: The HM equation editor doesn't have a full implementation of LaTeX: https://www.helpandmanual.com/help/hm_advanced_tools_formulaed.html Most basic symbols and expression typ...

Re: eWriter performance

The info above is pretty much all in your help, however, I would expect it to work when the official app has been installed and that the developer-required install is more a fallback if the user hasn't already got the app. This isn't quite correct. See the page for using eWriter for software docume...
