Re: Rummaging through WebHelp hmskins & edit - possible?

Er. wait - I'm not sure I understand about changing the 'project.hmxp' to 'whatever...hmskin' Is there some area in the hmskin that is has become hardcoded to contain the name of the H+M project that called it to do its skin thing when the help file is published? No, the contents of a .hmskin file ...

Re: Rummaging through WebHelp hmskins & edit - possible?

Hi Dave, Is it possible to... Absolutely. You can also work with completely unzipped skins. Just unzip it into an empty folder and change the name of the project.hmxp file it contains to anythingyoulike.hmskin. Then you can edit everything directly and also use the skin normally. The only thing that...

Re: Warning: Don't install the Windows 10 April Update yet

So long as you don't have a complete disaster it's not really a problem. The rollback function works very well and if you have any major issues you can always just choose the option to undo the last update.

Re: Can't get header wide enough - where is width specified?

Hi Dave,

Not enough information here to provide an answer. Please mail me the skin at support AT ec-software.com (replace the AT with @) and I'll check it. 8)

Re: Can't find a way to achieve a logo w/ transparent backgr

Hi Dave,

Impict does not really support alpha transparency for PNG because you can't set the background to be transparent. It can only be a solid color. You need to use a different program to add transparency to PNGs at the moment. :?

Re: Include skin options missing when editing a publising ta

Sorry to disappoint you but I did this all in my self created tasks. I did not touch the recent published tasks (never use them btw) OK, thanks for that. I'll have our developers look into it after all. I wanted to be absolutely certain first, because in my initial tests it seemed to be working fin...

Re: Warning: Don't install the Windows 10 April Update yet

Hi Tobias/Tim, Most people don't have issues, but those that have them have lots of them. My issues were on the Surface Pro 4 and were clearly graphics-related, but they stopped VisualStudio 2015 from working entirely. Microsoft seems to agree, as 1803 is now no longer being offered on this machine,...

Re: Include skin options missing when editing a publising ta

Hi Vincent, Update: As far as I can see, this only happens if you try to edit actions in the auto-generated task "Recent Publishes", which you should never do. That task is dynamic and will change automatically every time you publish the project manually without the task manager. If you wa...

Re: Safari browser loads help and will repeatedly refresh it

Hi Mike, Have you guys encountered anything like this before? No, but if you are using Help+Manual 7 you should be on Premium Pack 3. The skins in the version 2.x package are not fully compatible with the HTML generated by HM7. If you continue to have problems with the current version mail me a demo...

Re: Anchor links do not work in CHM when published server-si

Hi Rob, The writing has actually been on the wall about this ever since the release Windows XP SP1. Note that you are only able to open your CHM files at all because your users are still using 32-bit Windows, because that unfixable restriction that is stopping anchor links is already in those versio...

Re: Ebook with video

Hi Philippe, Sorry, but we can't provide help on video programs here, only on Help+Manual and our own related tools.. :? It is also really much much better to put your video on YouTube or Vimeo and embed that. That is the only way to get maximum compatibility for all your users. When you embed your ...

Re: Multiple TOC or 2 projectfiles using the same source?

Hi Vincent, You can't have two sets of configuration settings in one project directly. However, you can achieve this with the Publishing Task Manager, which allows you to define any number of different publishing configurations (called actions) in a single task. Each action defines the output folder...

Re: Checkboxes to Long Report "Unused Images" to prevent mov

Hi Dave,

Update: This was a small bug. It's fixed in the current beta, if you want to use it now:

https://www.helpandmanual.com/download/ ... p-v736.exe

Otherwise it will be in the next maintenance update (7.3.6).
