Re: Find & replace style with style plus conditional text

thanks for the swift reply. Much appreciated. I'll give it a try with NP++, otherwise it for sure a good argument investing in the Premium Pack. Sounds pretty comfortable. PP Toolbox can also save complex searches in a profile file that you can load. For example, if you wanted to conditional tag si...

Re: Find & replace style with style plus conditional text

Hi Jens, You can't do this directly in Help+Manual. However, it's quite easy to do by searching and replacing in the source code of the XML if each link is exactly the same. You just need to make the change manually once and check the before and after code in the XML source code tab of the topic to ...

Re: Formatting Tables

Hi Sean, Many tests have shown that justified text without hyphenation is harder/slower to read because the large and varying spaces between the words make it impossible for the eye to follow easily along the lines. Look at any quality online publication -- New Yorker, New York Times, The Guardian -...

Re: Build Agent Licensing

Hi Cindy, Our software company is considering an upgrade to Help & Manual 7, primarily for its support of Subversion--but our developers want to use a build agent, as Colin describes. Has this functionality been slated for an upcoming Help & Manual release? We now have a special solution for...

Re: Link to Page in H&M

Hi Linda, Further to Martin's information, the index.html?topic.htm syntax applies for all skins and templates except the new V3 Responsive skins in Premium Pack 3. You can learn about this standard syntax here: http://www.helpandmanual.com/help/index.html?hm_application_links_to_webhelp.htm The V3 ...

Re: gather all my images

Please let me know if there is a quicker way. Certainly, here you go: http://www.helpandmanual.com/help/index.html?hm_working_graphics_managing.htm To summarize: ⋅ Move all your graphics file to a single folder. Ideally, this folder should be inside the project folder. Then you can move t...

Re: Japanese icons

Hi Tim, This means that web fonts are disabled in your IE settings. The "icons" in these skins are actually a special compressed font with just a few characters that save a lot of space for speed and scale without going fuzzy. See the instructions for correcting this here in the Premium Pa...

Re: spell check

Hi Cedric, If I type a spelling mistake, I may have typed another 15 words before the app identifies my mistake. Then something is definitely slowing you down. There are a couple of things that can do this. The main one is having a lot of embedded images in your project. Embedded images are created ...

Re: Numbering in tables

Is there a way we, well you, could create the latter option, something like <%A.A++%>? The first A would have to relate to the A in <%A++%> Sorry, but this doesn't work with the current numbering variables. They are really just dumb placeholders that get incremented on every occurrence. :?

Re: inverted images, single character lines

Hi Cedric, The solution may be simpler than you think. I recommend that you send the project, or at least a sample part of it, to support AT ec-software.com (replace the AT with @) so that we can check it and comment. To create a smaller version for mailing just select Save As... in the File menu an...

Re: Problems with Youtube videos.

Hi Michael, This is actually caused by changes at YouTube. Until recently, everything worked fine with the IE=8 setting that is the default for CHM in all our skins and the standard templates in Help+Manual projects without skins. We're changing this to "edge" everywhere for the next maint...

Re: HTML Help (secondary) window size auto-adjustable?

Hi Christoph, There isn't a setting for this because, unfortunately, Microsoft doesn't provide it in the HTML Help API. Actually, CHM is also effectively a legacy help format that has been abandoned by Microsoft, just as they have abandoned all the other help formats they have ever created. It has n...
