Re: Adding Open Sans to a WebHelp - pdf file project

Hi Garry, Sorry, while I wrote correctly that the Google Fonts reference must go before the stylesheet restaurant, the example code shows it the other way round. I've corrected it now. If you swap the order of the two entries it should work. Note that you also need an Internet connection for it to w...

Re: Is it possible to customize page referrer

Hi Alexander, Sorry, but that is not supported and is also not really possible. If it was possible, publishing a PDF would take many hours because the PDF would need to be re-generated completely when every reference is reached, because the texts would change the pagination. So the publishing operat...

Re: Adding Open Sans to a WebHelp - pdf file project

Hi Garry, Basically, all you need to do is this: ⋅ Use the Google fonts actively in Help+Manual (then you don't need to re-map existing fonts to the ones you really want to use) ⋅ Insert references to the fonts you want to use in the HTML page template in the skin To insert the r...

Re: Link from content area to open search tab

Hi Paul, In some of the topics I have, it is just a "service" to the customer where the subject covers multiple topics depending on the detail you are looking for. Look at it this way: If you put those pre-defined search links in the topics you are cooking a fish and serving it. If you exp...

Re: Link from content area to open search tab

Hi Paul, First of all, I would not really recommend putting links like this in your help. It is much better to let the users navigate the help themselves, and it adds unnecessary complexity to your pages. But be my guest: The link to activate the search tab with a search is explained above so I don'...

Re: Adding Open Sans to a WebHelp - pdf file project

So what about the Webhelp. Where do I put the reference to open sans font ? That depends on what skin you are using. If you are using one of the V3 Responsive skins Google Web Fonts are supported directly. See here for instructions: http://www.it-authoring.com/info/pp3help/sp03_respwebfonts.html Ot...

Re: Adding Open Sans to a WebHelp - pdf file project

Hi Garry, You can't do this with an online font for a PDF file because PDF is not HTML. It is just raw printer data stored in a file. Instead, you need to download the Google font in the TTF format and install it on your computer (then it will also be visible in Help+Manual and you can use it direct...

Re: HTML help not searchable, A-Keywords calls fail

Hi Thomas, Errors like this are frequently caused by a damaged or malfunctioning CHM compiler installation so I recommend reinstalling it. Even though it may have been working correctly before, this Microsoft compiler is known for occasionally "losing" its important settings for no apparen...

Re: Cannot store after moving project to SVN

Hi Thorsten, SVN 1.8.1 should work fine, so long as both Tortoise and your SVN server are on the same version. Is it possible that you have more than one SVN client installed, i.e. not just Tortoise? Or that you have more than one version control system installed? However, if Tortoise is 1.8.1 and t...

Re: Word templates

Ah I see. Is there anyway the fields could be automatically updated after publishing? This is normally the case. It happens when you click on the Enable Content button when opening the Word file after publishing, if you set it to open automatically. Then Help+Manual generates some Word macros in a ...

Re: Word templates

Hi Dave, If the template is working correctly the TOC should be a standard Word contents field and it is normal for it to be displayed as you show. To turn it into contents just right-click on it in Word and select "Update Field". When the docx document first opens in Word you should also ...

Re: Adding code to manuals and code colours

Hi Sean, The syntax highlighter in HM is quite basic, there is no denying that. If you are defining a custom highlighter you are restricted to the options provided. Also, it is not dynamic -- i.e. it doesn't work like dynamic styles. If you change the definitions in the highlighter you are using, th...

Re: Possible to search for specific word in links?

Help+Manual itself doesn't have a special option for this. To do this you need to search in the source code of your topics using regular expressions. If you have Premium Pack 3 you can use the Toolbox utility included there for this. I attach a search profile for searching in links in Toolbox so tha...
