Re: Popup question

Hi John, Because of the way popups work in CHM you can't "share" them across multiple CHM files in the way you describe here. CHM doesn't save the popups as topics at all. They are all stored in a special plain-text file that is only available within that CHM file, because it is accessed i...

Re: Ewriter and WebHelp skins

Hi DeWayne, My guess is that you are using a V3, V4 or V5 WebHelp skin as your basis. These skins use a different internal structure that we call WebHelp 3.0, and this needs to be eWriter-aware to work well inside eWriter's eViewer. That is why there are separate eWriter versions of several lines of...

Re: Anchors not available in hotspot editor

Hi Olivier, I just checked this with the current release version of HM9 (9.1.0 Build 6440) and I get the anchor list in the hotspot editor for both the current topic and any other topic. Are you really selecting the topic link option and then clicking on the hotspot object to select it before openin...

Re: Converting hm3 to hm6 error

I moved the project to another folder, and used the automatic (not the manual) conversion option when opening the hm3 file, and it seems to have solved the problem. Thanks, now I am on H&M 6 and enjoying your continuous development, making this the best editor on the market. Thanks for confirmi...

Re: V5 CoolMax skin - not possible to scroll search results on mobile

Martin,

Update: I just did some more testing and I can confirm that the scroll problem won't be fixed if you are using the F12 console emulation for tablets on a desktop browser because it doesn't provide complete hardware emulation. However, it will work fine on an actual tablet.

Re: V5 CoolMax skin - not possible to scroll search results on mobile

Hi Martin, Your scrollbar code is correct, but it won't work if you are testing tablet mode on the desktop. You need to actually be on a mobile device. This may also be the problem with your header. For example, when I test this on a 12.9" iPad Pro it works fine. Also make sure that you are cle...

Re: V5 CoolMax skin - not possible to scroll search results on mobile

Hi Martin, OK, I've now identified and fixed both issues. The keyboard popping up problem was caused by an old solution for an Android browser bug that is no longer relevant. Please try the following: 1) Keyboard popping up Edit the hm_webhelp.js file in the baggage of your skin and locate these lin...

Re: V5 CoolMax skin - not possible to scroll search results on mobile

There are more problems in the search part of the mobile view. For example, on the Samsung Galaxy Tab S7+, the keyboard constantly pops up and it is not possible to hide them permanently. Thanks, I can reproduce this in Chrome on Android. This is also something new. I already have a solution for th...

Re: Converting hm3 to hm6 error

Hi Robert,

OK, those boxes are ticked. So please do send the .hm3 project you are trying to convert to support AT ec-software.com (replace the AT with @) and we'll check it for you.

Re: Converting hm3 to hm6 error

Hi Robert, First of all, I note that you have a SubVersion (SVN) message there. Since you are using a single-file .hmxz project, you cannot meaningfully use SVN. The .hmxz file is a compressed binary (actually a Zip) that SVN cannot do anything with. You need to use the uncompressed HMXP format, so ...

Re: Licensing Question

Hi Ron,

Sorry about this -- maintenance extensions aren't supported yet in the manager utility. Instead, just open your own copy of Help+Manual using the same pool and enter the extension codes with the license maintenance dialog in the Help menu. :?

Re: Zoom indexer does not complete the indexing

Do you mean that I must copy the .zcfg configuration file in the folder where I’m publishing the help? No -- please don't do that. The configuration file can be anywhere except there. You just need to point Zoom to the location where you are generating the WebHelp so that it can index the WebHelp t...

Re: Syntax for e-book topic plus anchor

Hi Tim, Can you please explain the benefit of preceding the e-book pathname with "ewriter://"? This was necessary for the MacOS version, because MacOS requires an explicit protocol for things like this. We decided to make it consistent across both versions so that you don't need to deal wi...

Re: Syntax for e-book topic plus anchor

Hi Erik, Your Premium Pack is out of date. The current version is 5.0.4, so please do although I don't think that is the cause here. I just noticed that you are still using the EXE version of eWriter Help, which is not recommended. However, if you do, you need to have the file call itself, rather th...
