Re: Migrating to another computer

Hi Christoph, Moving Help & Manual to a new computer is not a problem. First make backup copies of any files that you have created with H&M on the old machine (projects, print manual templates, graphics etc). Then just go to Windows Control Panel and uninstall on your current machine. After ...

Re: Printing a topic (and children)

Hi Ed, There's an easy way to do this via the Print Manual feature in the File menu. First you need to set up a PDF template for these jobs in which only the Topics section is activated. All other sections should be turned off by selecting their page options and unchecking the Print this Section opt...

Re: Comment indicator in TOC?

The pin icon can't currently be changed. The output to PDF is generally only for proofreading and commenting, not for distribution, so we feel that the slight overlap is acceptable there. I'm passing this on to our development team, however. 8)

Re: Can I override the skin for one setting? (Keyword index)

Hi Ed, is there some way to override that one skin setting for this particular document? Some way to say "use Skin X but ignore that bit about no keyword index"? Sorry, this isn't possible. There's no way to change internal skin settings from outside when you publish. But you don't need to...

Re: Table in Header

To achieve this you need to put both the topic heading and the additional text in the table. Do this: ⋅ Delete the heading and insert a two-cell table. ⋅ Insert the heading in the left cell and your additional text in the right cell. ⋅ Set the width of the table to &quo...

Re: translate=false no longer present in 7.3.1

This is already known and has been fixed -- it is related to the TidyXML function and happens when TidyXML is off. You can download the pre-release of 7.3.2 with the fix here already if you need it urgently:

Re: Linking to a topic in another .chm file gives a warning

Hi Bregje, This warning is just a reminder that those CHM files must be present for the links to work. They are not errors. You can control the contents of the compiler report in View > Program Options > Compilers. We strongly recommend that you don't leave warnings off all the time, and don't ever ...

Re: Efficient blurring

Hi Gerold,

I'm afraid that Impict doesn't currently have the ability to store settings for the effects so the process you are describing is still the only way to do it. If you need to blur specific areas in a lot of images you might need to use a different tool for that for the time being... :?

Hi Mike,

Sorry, but I really have no idea here. Do you have any association with the compay/website referenced in the 404 message?

Re: AV in 7.3.1.4180 adding topics to the table of index

Hi Ed, I can't reproduce this, but there are a couple of odd things in what you describe: First of all, your screenshot shows that you are not using the Multiple Topics option. You have the single topic option active, so if you are pasting multiple lines there it won't work. However, if I do that I ...

Re: Facebook Share

Hi Mike, I just tested this and it has nothing to do with the skin itself. Facebook is interpreting your URL and for some reason your URL is being flagged as the property of Codify Design Studio. You can test this by trying to post a link to the Premium Pack's own help, which works fine: http://www....

Re: Web Help - Crashing Browser

Hi Andy,

This will have something to do with your specific project, your copy of the skin or a combination Please mail your project and your edited copy of the .hmskin file to support AT ec-software.com (replace the AT with @) and we will figure out what is going on here. 8)

Re: Excluding Chapter from PDF Output

Hi Olivier,

When specifying Include options in command line publishing it's always best to include the output format itself (CHM in your example) as the FIRST option. It will probably work the way you have it as well, but best practice is to have it first. 8)

Re: Favicon

Hi Matt, I just re-tested this and the only place the favicon is not displaying is on Edge, and that only when displaying on a localhost connection. There too it works fine so long as the WebHelp is on a real web server. I'm using a Boxed Plain Grey Skin from the PP3.22 Please do update to 3.30 whic...
