Re: Popup fading in issue

Hi Vincent, That's annoying. If this is happening after the Windows 10 update it looks as though it's something that is only affecting some specific configurations, because all of our machines are working fine. We would absolutely be on it if it was turning up for us, either on our own machines or i...

Re: snippets NOT appearing in pdf output

Hi Simon,

Yes, as so often, the Devil is in the details. Don't feel bad about it. These things happen to all of us all the time. 8)

Re: Popup fading in issue

Hi Vincent, When you say sloooow, what kind of time are you talking about, in seconds? I'm on the current build of Windows 10 version 1803 17134.345 and the context menus pop up with a very slight delay, I would guess about 200-300ms. So a massive slowdown, if there, is not due to Windows only. That...

Re: snippets NOT appearing in pdf output

Hi Simon, If you're inserting the snippets from the style repository in the template you will be referencing the snippet files directly, because PDF templates can't be linked to style repositories in the same way that projects can. What is probably happening here is that the Topics folder of the rep...

Re: Merging two projects

Hi Rob, Is there any convenient way to do a global rename of topics (such as adding an 'x' to all topic names in one of the projects) before merging them? You can't do this from within Help+Manual itself because it's quite a complex operation. It involves changing the topic IDs, renaming the topic f...

Re: Cannot Link to Anchor in same topic

Hi Dale,

The anchor list is the dropdown directly to the right of the Target: field, which currently shows (Top). If you click there to open the dropdown list you will be able to select the anchor there.

Re: customizing skins - removing items

Hi Mark, If you don't want those things then don't use a Premium Pack skin. Use one of the basic standard skins. However, there too you will also have basic topic navigation in the topic header and you really shouldn't try to remove it because it will make accessing your documentation a lot easier.....

Re: Toggles - Ubuntu 18

Hi Jamie,

A couple of questions:

  • Which skin is being used?
  • Please ask them to press F12 when using the toggles to open the JS console and see if there are any error messages.
The console messages could provide a quick solution if there are errors there.

Re: Print Manual. Fields in "Include options"

Hi Svetlana,

That's a cosmetic bug on high-resolution screens. We'll get onto it right away. We're still working to catch all the elements that need to be adjusted for hi-res. Sorry about that, will be fixed ASAP.

Re: Wrong topics included when publishing

Hi John-Robert, By default, all topics are assigned the build option All Builds. if you want to only include specific topics with a specific build you must assign specific builds to ALL your topics, including the ones you want to exclude. Then you can turn off the build options for the ones you want...

Re: Publish PDF. Differences on different computers

Adobe PDF printer was selected, Although it seems counter-intuitive, it's best NOT to use PDF output printer drivers as the reference PDF output driver. Normal printer drivers will produce the best results, and ideally they should be standard drivers from the Windows list and not customized drivers...

Re: Publish PDF. Differences on different computers

Hi Svetlana, This is because of the way PDF is generated using a reference printer driver, set in View > Program Options > PDF. You will get particularly different results if you are using the screen device as the reference driver and the computers have very different resolutions. Different drivers ...

Re: Table — move row up or down several rows

Hi Rainer, These are some limitations on moving table rows at the moment. This may all be improved in the next major version. If you need to move the contents of rows a further distance it is generally easier to do it with the following steps: ⋅ First insert the number of empty rows that y...

Re: Cannot Link to Anchor in same topic

Hi Dale,

To link to an anchor in the current topic, first create a normal link to the topic. Then double-click on the link to open its edit dialog and you will then be able to select the anchor in the drop-down list next to the topic ID target.
