Re: Adding topic subheading to PDF table of contents

When I publish to PDF, all the topics are used to create the table of contents. Is there a way to also add each topic's subheadings to the PDF Table of contents as well, perhaps by referring to their styles? Every subheading in all of my topics uses Heading2. You can't reference styles like this, b...

Thanks for the feedback. We'll consider it, but I can't make any promises because there is so much on the ToDo list already. :?

Re: Styles vs Font Formats

Hi Jep, The two main advantages of a style would be that with a text style you can a) configure your "bold" to be anything you like, and b) the XML is slightly briefer, although in the case of bold, underline and italics that is really minor. For those three things I would say that it is r...

Re: Default for Increase (/Decrease) Indent

Hi Jep, Tabs should only ever be used if you are generating ONLY Word or PDF output. All other outputs are HTML based and tabs do not exist in HTML. Using them there creates massive formatting errors. There is only one case where a tab is both OK and required in Help+Manual and that is for the space...

Re: Problems with resizing images using Picture Toggle in chm

In CHM you can't open an image file in another window. What you need to do is add the image file to the baggage section of the project so that it gets exported (short filename, no spaces or special characters in the filename!). Then create an internet link with only the filename preceded by ./, like...

Re: Problems with resizing images using Picture Toggle in chm

What can I do in this case to be able to view the entire report in an enlarged view? The image toggles feature is not designed for that kind of use. Instead, I suggest including the full-sized image in the baggage files section of your project and then linking to it with an Internet link set to ope...

Re: Bizarre behaviour

this is weard, I have existing Projects stored in my OneDrive which I frequently update - these are working fine. I can add Topics without any Issue. If you only use single-file projects (HMXZ) and only access them from a single computer you are relatively safe. The problems start if you access fro...

Definitely, but not just OneDrive. This applies to any managed cloud folder. In addition to OneDrive this also includes Google Drive, iCloud Drive, DropBox and all the others.

The order of the standard pages in the PDF template can't be changed. You can move user-inserted pages around, but only those.

Yes, we manually edited the helpman_settings.js file after your advice ([https://helpman.it-authoring.com/viewtopic.php?p=58665#p58665]). We understand our responsibility but we need the image to scale correctly without the lightbox Those old instructions should NOT be used with the current version...

Re: Auto content, list of images

I assumed that if I create documentation by importing from Word, which has its own automatic table of contents, then after the import one topic with the content will be automatically created, which also works as a clickable one. That would be doing it backwards, since Word is just one of the many f...

Re: Auto content, list of images

The content copied and pasted into the topic in this way has no structure (for example, how the content structure is created when compiling a PDF). It probably needs to be edited and finished manually. Well, you really don't want to be re-creating an entire table of contents in a topic like this. T...

Hi Gerold, First - on a move+click - I do not want to start the move from the position of the previous slide, that does not make sense what the screen has changed in-between, looks like the cursor starts somewhere randomly on the screen. Either I would want to specifiy the starting position or even ...
