Re: "Clean HTML" output

Hi Martin, You can't generate completely scriptless HTML, because you need some scripting for things like toggles, which would just be dead without it. However, you can absolutely generate WebHelp without any templates if all you need are the HTML pages to embed yourself. First remember that you mus...

Re: Why do anchors create huge spaces above headings?

I ran into this phenomenon when publishing to chm (and it doesn't just happen with headings) when the page's header is turned off - having it on the spacing is normal. Version 8.3.1 Build 5794. Check your formatting in that topic. First check the Heading1 style in Write > Styles > Edit Styles and s...

Thanks. These phantoms -- can we simply delete them from the Topic Files (right click, Delete Entry)?
Yes, that's fine, provided you do it from within Help+Manual and are sure you don't need the topics.

Re: Phantom Topics - in Project Files > Topic Files but not in the project

I see a small checkbox at the bottom of the Delete selected entry? dialog : "[x] Also delete topic files." If we mistakenly un-checked this option while deleting a topic, would the result be the persistence of the topic in this Project > Topic Files parallel universe? Yes, because then you would ju...

Re: Problem with display of tables in PDF

Hi Liza, This is a scaling effect in PDF readers that is caused by rounding errors, because they use whole numbers without decimal points for line widths. It is particularly apparent in older versions of Help+Manual (you are posting in the Version 6 forum, so I assume that is what you are using). It...

Re: Webhelp: how to force an index panel to display?

Hi Mike, This is because you are using an outdated skin without the automatic link that enables users to open the full WebHelp interface. Google links to the plain topic filename (topicname.htm) instead of the syntax required for opening the full UI with the standard skins (index.html?topicname.htm)...

Hi Marc,

We'll check into this, but I do know that only API keys are accepted for this. It may be that these free keys are different in some way. :?

Hi Olivier, This is stored in the _hm_print_window.htm file in the baggage files. Edit this file and locate these lines of code down towards the end: setTimeout(function(){ window.print(); },300); Disable the print command by commenting it out with two slashes (//), like this: setTimeout(function(){...

This small bug has been corrected and will be included in the next update. If you want to get it now you can download the pre-release with the fix:

Re: Text is underline after reloading project

Hi Ed, Thanks for the demos. I can reproduce this, and it's a strange effect related to style settings in an as yet unknown context, which we will investigate. The problem is caused by the simple fact that your Prompt style that is used for this text has underlining active. For some reason, which we...

Re: Intermittent build failures

Hi Kathleen, It's not possible to identify the cause with no more information than the file size. However, the doubling of size cannot come from nowhere. It at least means that the two builds are not the same. Something different must be happening between the two builds. Most likely causes include: ...

Re: Premium Pack activation

Hi Kathleen, The Premium Pack is a separate download and installation. If you can still see the demo skins it hasn't been installed yet. Look in the mail you received when you purchased the Pack. That contains your download link and personal installation password. After installing go online here to ...
