Re: PDF Default Template Behaviour

Update: This will be included in the next maintenance release. Then you will get the same type of error message for PDF templates not found as for WebHelp skins. :)

Re: WebHelp - Empty Topic after publishing

Hi Simon, Something wacky is going on here but the main problem is most likely that you are displaying the WebHelp directly from the disk without a web server, which no longer works properly in all browsers except Firefox. The only exception here are the new V3 skins in the Premium Pack add-on, whic...

Re: Standalone Help Page Usage/Suggestion/Request

Hi Sizbut, Since this is a Premium Pack request I've moved it to the PP forum. That's an interesting request and it's the first time this has come up. When I set up the system for embedded topics the assumption was that it would be a lot more flexible if it didn't interfere with the host page at all...

Re: PDF Default Template Behaviour

Hi Sizebut,

I'm not aware of this, I've asked the developers to have a look at it.

Re: WebHelp - Empty Topic after publishing

Hi Simon, It sounds as though there might be something in the topic that is causing an error. When viewing the WebHelp in the browser, press F12 to view the developer console, then press F5 to reload the page. If there are errors you should then see messages about them. Otherwise we need to see a sm...

Re: hello

Hi Steven,

Welcome to the forum! I hope you find it useful.

I've moved this to the Help Community section because the main "topics" sections are exclusively for technical questions and discussions. :)

Re: Switch Repository in publish task

Hi Mikhail, So i create another repository and switch them manually. You don't need to do this. All Help+Manual styles have two sets of settings, one for screen output (CHM, WebHelp) and one for print output (PDF, Word). See here for instructions: https://helpandmanual.com/help/index.html?hm_working...

Re: Backup H&M

Hi Hendrik, Open the regedit program and navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software and select the ECSOFTWARE key. Right-click on it, select Export and save it as a .reg file. Then copy the file to your new computer and double-click on it to install the registry key there. So long as you install everyth...

Re: ZoomSearch Images and Help&Manual Search Images

Thanks Tim. Have added that to my list of options. As I said, nice when two great products work so well together. Thanks for the feedback! After thinking about including this by default I've now decided against it, because it would cause problems for people who forget to set the site URL variable. ...

Re: Grouping Sections on the TOC

Hi Ga,

Sorry, there are no page break options for individual TOC entries within the TOC. The next page will always begin after the current page is full.

Re: Windows10 update - cpu usage

Hi Martin, Interesting. My SP4 was set to Windows Spotlight and I hadn't noticed the effect, but I've switched it to a static image anyway. Apropos battery: Although I love the Surface in practical terms, I will never ever buy another computer from Microsoft. After having it for just over a year I c...

Re: ZoomSearch Images and Help&Manual Search Images

Update: The easiest way to fix this should be to replace the ./images/<%ZOOMIMAGE%> reference in the page template with <%HREF_HELPURL%>images/<%ZOOMIMAGE%> You then need to make sure that your HREF_HELPURL variable (in the General Settings group) is set to the full absolute URL of your WebHelp fold...

Re: Copying styles does not work as expected

1. Copying styles from project A to project B. I do as said in user manual - copy text from desired style, then click Create style from selection and create a new style based on the one I copied. When I try to apply this style to other text in project B, it does not work. This is a misunderstanding...

Re: Different image size in tidy XML

Hi Christoph, This issue has now been corrected in the current stable beta: https://www.helpandmanual.com/download/help-and-manual-setup-v736.exe Note that the incorrect values only affect browser preview, they are not used for anything else. You can fix a project where the image file references hav...

Re: Numbering in tables

In Excel you can select a couple of cells and then drag those cells along others and it will auto-fill them. I think I know the answer, as obviously all the cells in an Excel document are linked, but is this possible? No, this isn't possible in Help+Manual. You can copy and paste multiple cells, bu...
