Re: Custom Variables referrers search.

Hi Jamie,

Sorry, there isn't a function for that. You need to save your project in the uncompressed HMXP format and then search for VARIABLE_NAME in the files in the /Topics folder using a multi-file search tool. The free Notepad++ editor does a great job of this, for example. 8)

Re: Featured image doesn't show

Minimalist_Blue_Diamond is what I'm using. That supports it fine, just tested it. Please check the instructions . Make sure that your topics with the images also have a description defined in the Topic Options (you need both a description and the image, they are both required), and that your image ...

Re: TOC in a page?

that's not it, there are seven. I checked for each one, and the style is correctly Heading2_atoc_ That's strange. Since your skin is out of date anyway, please update to the 3.30 Premium Pack and use a fresh skin from there. If you don't have the download and installation credentials any more conta...

Re: TOC in a page?

Hi Christian, How many headings with AutoTOC styles do you have in the topic? By default, it will only activate with 3 or more AutoTOC headings on the page because it's a bit silly and pointless with just one or two. You can change this with the configuration variable ATOC_MINHEADERS in the AutoTOC ...

Re: Featured image doesn't show

Hi Mark,

Which skins are you using? This is key, because the skin needs to support it as well.

Re: TOC gets lost repeatedly

Hi Robert, Thanks a lot for the detailed information. I'll get back to you on this. I don't think so. -- But I know that the error occured after a restart, too. Anyway, I will ask our IT how often the server/VM with H&M is restarted. Restarting the server shouldn't be an issue, since all the wor...

Re: Responsive initial toggle state

Hi Mark, I can understand the wish for this in certain circumstances. Unfortunately, this is probably one of the things that won't get implemented because it adds complexity to the user interface for something that is almost never used. It would have to be configurable in the toggle dialog in Help+M...

Re: TOC gets lost repeatedly

Hi Robert, This is very strange, we've never yet encountered TOC problems like this. I have some important questions: ⋅ Are your users saving and refreshing the project before and after every TOC change and refreshing often? Since the TOC is editable by everyone this is critical. ⋅&nb...

Re: Bullet Points Changing Colour

I assume that this is some kind of bug. Is there a way to fix it? No, it's a feature. See How to make bold and colored numbering and bullets here: http://www.helpandmanual.com/help/index.html?hm_working_formatting_lists_styles.htm The formatting of list bullets and numbering is controlled by the fo...

Re: Migrating to another computer

Hi Christoph, Moving Help & Manual to a new computer is not a problem. First make backup copies of any files that you have created with H&M on the old machine (projects, print manual templates, graphics etc). Then just go to Windows Control Panel and uninstall on your current machine. After ...

Re: Printing a topic (and children)

Hi Ed, There's an easy way to do this via the Print Manual feature in the File menu. First you need to set up a PDF template for these jobs in which only the Topics section is activated. All other sections should be turned off by selecting their page options and unchecking the Print this Section opt...

Re: Comment indicator in TOC?

The pin icon can't currently be changed. The output to PDF is generally only for proofreading and commenting, not for distribution, so we feel that the slight overlap is acceptable there. I'm passing this on to our development team, however. 8)

Re: Can I override the skin for one setting? (Keyword index)

Hi Ed, is there some way to override that one skin setting for this particular document? Some way to say "use Skin X but ignore that bit about no keyword index"? Sorry, this isn't possible. There's no way to change internal skin settings from outside when you publish. But you don't need to...

Re: Table in Header

Re: translate=false no longer present in 7.3.1

This is already known and has been fixed -- it is related to the TidyXML function and happens when TidyXML is off. You can download the pre-release of 7.3.2 with the fix here already if you need it urgently:
