Re: Important: Google Analytics doesn't include Google softw

Just a note, in case anyone else has this issue. These developers use Zoom Professional, so we had to also modify Zoom's search configuration to also use the FQDN. Before making the Zoom change, when a user selected search result, the header images on the topic page would be duplicated/missing images.

Re: Important: Google Analytics doesn't include Google softw

Yes, but I read it wrong the first time. :X

Now that I'm using the fully qualified URL, it's working great. Thanks Tim!

Re: Important: Google Analytics doesn't include Google softw

They've gone back to using the GA features built in to H&Mv5. I have verified the mainorf_navigation.js has the correct var gaaccount = "UA-20175288-1"; code in it. Since this web help is on an intranet web server, I verified that users could access the following links: http://www.goog...

Re: Important: Google Analytics doesn't include Google softw

Hello, I am troubleshooting a H&Mv5.5 issue that one of our developers is encountering. After placing the GA code in H&M, the compiled output does not contain any reference to Google. I have also compiled the same project and had the same issue. We are now looking at a manual solution and I ...

Inserting Custom Code Into One Project With Multiple Skins

Hello there, Here's my situation and I can think of a few ways to tackle it, but I am on a dead line and the most efficient solution. In H&Mv5 Pro w/ The Premium Pack, I have one giant project and I output several builds that are all web-based, use different skins, and (via LDAP to AD) control w...

oh, wow.

I'd usually delete that post, but just in case someone else stumbles upon it, I'll provide the solutions I found.

In the Publishing Help Project dialog, you can select which PP "features" you want in the Include Options list. *hangs head in shame*

I'm having the same problem, here's what I did: 1. I took an existing H&M4 project and converted it to v5 2. Added the Premium Skin as baggage 3. "Copy Properties From:" on everything 4. Modified the text variables 5. Published WebHelp w/ the skin in the Publishing dialog ....but the f...

So, the client was able to restore it to a version that saved successfully, but is now looking at H&M5 again, despite the cost to this client. The budget is low right now. I can only assume that the reason the project went corrupt aside for the table of contents XML, is that H&M4 was saving ...

Sorry to keep posting. After I converted the project to H&M5, I unzipped it and found the only XML file in there, is the table of contents xml file, so it appears all the topic pages are gone. I then went back to the H&M4 .hmx, and it is only 80KB. So, I'm guessing the HMX is now just an emp...

Well, false report on it opening in Build 906. That user wasn't actually opening the .hmx, but the actual Help output. I tried converting the project to H&M5 to see what would happen and it says the same thing for all the topics. [Screen shot attached] I'm still waiting on authorization to send ...

Thanks

Thanks Tim,
Since we can't get the project open (in Build 1386), and it is only this one specific project, I need to get permission to release it. I know you will keep it confidential. I'll send it as soon as I get authorization. Thanks Tim!

H&Mv4 Project opens in Build 906, but 1386 gives errors

Hi there, Tim/Alexander: Something happened with one my clients' .hmx projects. It opens fine in H&Mv4 Build 906, but in H&Mv4 Build 1386, it gives the attached screen shot errors. What can I do to solve this? I'm about to help the client upgrade to H&Mv5 as I showed them why they should...

Thanks Tim,
If ClearCase is compatible and the client tries it out, I'll post an update about how it went. :)

Version Control / ClearCase

Has anyone tried implementing version control with H&Mv5.1 and IBM's ClearCase? I have never used ClearCase, but have a client asking me if they can work together. I have read in the H&M Help that most VCS should work as they use a somewhat standard API, but how can I find out for sure? Than...
