Re: SnipSVG saving over the PNG I'm annotating
assumed that on ppi info saved in the metadata means the image will import into the document at that intended physical width without the document author needing to be told explicitly how large to make the imported illustration on the page I suggest to include the PPI into the file name. This tells ...

Re: Customising number tag pointer with dot and an outline
This is a really complex figure you have here. The simplest way to design it is to start with a numbering tag, then add a white rectangle (no outline) behind the pointer. For the pointer end, put a black circle with a white outline in between those two (between in terms of z-direction). What doesn't...

Re: SnipSVG saving over the PNG I'm annotating
Hi Bruce, The "IHDR" header entries in the PNG are of course written by SnipSVG, otherwise the PNG file would become a junk of dead data. Additional header information is generally stripped. These are so called EXIF headers, often present in JPEG files, but sometimes in PNG as well. They c...

Re: Have you moved to H+M from MadCap Flare? If so, what are the top things you would tell someone doing the same?
We do have a Madcap Flare converter.
It is still in an experimental state, that's why we haven't officially released it. We plan to make it a two-way converter.
Please contact support (at) ec-software.com if you would like to try it.

Re: Help title not displayed in CHM main window
Hi Sasa, The issue that Tim talks about is when the CHM viewer comes up with a title bar that says "HTML Help" (instead of displaying the -localized- title of the help file). This is indeed an ancient bug in the Microsoft help viewer. Whenever the language specified in the CHM file differs...

Re: Version Control with Git
No. You may only have ONE project per repository Michals suggestion is possible, but only if you use "custom version control". Or, alternatively, outside of Help+Manual (this always works). To make Help+Manual display the version control actions, it must understand that a particular proje...

Re: SnipSVG different Screen Setup
Which version of SnipSVG is that?
And is this Windows or macOS? For Windows, the values don't really make sense.

Re: SnipSVG different Screen Setup
Update: just tried with my office desk with two large monitors, the re-positioning works flawlessly for me in any situation. Please post your config settings here. Perform the following steps: 1) Start SnipSVG and arrange it like you do on your office desk, close it 2) Locate the config file "...

Re: SnipSVG different Screen Setup
SnipSVG does test for position visibility when it restores the last position. I wonder what your monitor coordinates are. Is the top/left corner of the left office monitor indeed 0/0 or is it -1920/0? In other words: is the 0/0 corner on the left or the right monitor?

Re: Shapes, and SVG Shadow in H&M 9
How do you imagine the shapes? In HelpXplain you can create shapes from text and from SVG paths by manually entering the path data. We use this function regularly, because those manually created shapes are fully compatible with SnipSVG and one can transfer them with copy and paste. But I wonder if a...

Thanks for the feedback! Animated SVGs anyone?
I am replying to this thread, which did not gather much attention: https://helpman.it-authoring.com/viewtopic.php?t=17709 Question: Is " animated SVG files " an issue for anyone or is this a total niche topic? Would you like to be able to create animated SVGs yourself? Now, before you say ...

Re: Lottie anyone?
Hi Gerold, I have experimented with Lottie already. It's promising but IMO yet not ready for the average Joe. The Lottie format is interesting in combination with SnipSVG and with HelpXplain, also with Help+Manual. But we need to find a better solution on how to include Lottie files. The external JS...

Re: Print Manual Designer: Cannot define color
The color dialog in the manual designer? That takes decimal numbers from 0 to 255. Red, green and blue are byte values, hence the range from 0 to 255.In my H&M, numeric input is only possible up to 2 digits, not 3.
