Re: Microsoft HTML Help compiler error
Thanks for the advice Tim. That could help me to justify to my bosses the work of moving to Webhelp I guess :-) That's a bigger task than it might seem as we have a stand-alone systems documentation library in HTML Help with many direct hyperlinks into legacy system chm modules which were not create...

Re: Microsoft HTML Help compiler error
Hi I found a registry workaround on the web for opening chm on network drives in Windows 7 64 bit, but don't have a machine handy to test it on at present. It's a variation on the method used in earlier Windows versions. Has anyone else tried this? Does it work? The example below blocks all network ...

Re: What happened to scrollbars
It must be Christmas :-) Thanks guys. In case anyone should read these posts, I'm just confirming that the missing scrollbars issue is resolved in chm displayed with IE6, using the standard skins supplied with the latest release. I've now modified a standard skin to include our company header and su...

Re: What happened to scrollbars
Hi Tim I'm using the original skins. Searched for *.hmskin to make sure. All skins are dated 17/11/2011 19:42. I switched to no skin and recompiled, when I have scrollbars, then re-selected classic 2 frame blue skin, when I have no scrollbars. hh.exe in Windows folder on my PC is version 5.2.3790.24...

Re: What happened to scrollbars
Hi Tim As I'm publishing to chm, I'm using the HTML Help viewer, not a browser. The latest build has not changed anything. If I view HM6's own HTML Help, the first topic has scrollbars. The subsequent topics are obviously using a different topic template, as they have navigation buttons in a non-scr...

What happened to scrollbars
Hi Tim Sorry if I have posted this twice, my first version had disappeared. Just testing HM6 with a view to upgrading from HM4, finally. I converted a couple of HM4 projects and published to chm. Scrollbars both vertical and horizontal are missing on all my topics. They are also missing on HM6 own c...

Re: Back arrow in html help
The Back button in the HTML Help Viewer toolbar does just that.

Impict won't open EMF images
Is Impict able to open EMF files? I had to import a Word document provided by someone else into a HM4 project today. Several of the screenshots it contained had been annotated using Word drawing tools. The annotations were lost (as I expected) when I saved the Word file as RTF. But I am unable to op...

Re: Links to anchors won't display in secondary window
Tim
Thanks for your quick reply. Have replaced the topic#anchor links with a Keyhelp script. It opens a new help instance with TOC but I can live with that, and I'm already using Keyhelp for other functions.

Links to anchors won't display in secondary window
Hi I have a number of hyperlinks in my HM4 project, compiling to CHM, which point to anchors in another topic. The window type for these links is set to a secondary window which I created, but they all display in the main window. If I change the links so they point to the top of the topic, they disp...

Re: HTML Output -Prevent Highlight on Searched Words
Hi
In HTML Help the user can turn the search highlight on and off via a toggle on the Options menu on the help viewer menu.

Cleartype in Table of Contents
From reading the help, I think the answer is going to be no, but... I just changed from a CRT to LCD monitor and enabled Cleartype. Is it possible to apply the Cleartype font to the Table of Contents in HTML Help ? It really stands out as fuzzy when displayed alongside topic text that does display i...

Next button working strangely
Since I moved a topic to a new location in the TOC, clicking the "next" and "previous" buttons no longer moves sequentially through my topics in the compiled HTML Help. The highlight jumps back to an earlier topic and the next button now effectively goes round in circles within a...
