Bugs in HTMLHelp tend to be insoluble, so my applications now launch a separate process to display HTMLHelp. HHkey.exe is the one I use. Suggestion: Until this issue/limitation is resolved, display a tip/info box that warns about the potential problems if an anchor ID is changed (with an option to not display the tip/info again).

I changed an Anchor ID and noticed that the links to it were not updated to the new ID. I assume this is a bug. I'm not sure if it has been reported before but thought I'd mention it.

Hi Martin, That sounds exactly like the issue I'm having. It seems then that most applications (including H&M) work as if the help is called as a stand-alone application (like with ShellExecute()). Perhaps I should switch to this method? Perhaps this is how all/most of those help components call...

Yes, but there's something I'm missing. It seems lots of programs, including H&M use modal options dialog boxes but their help files are still accessible without problems. It seems some exception is made for the help.
