Re: Help+Manual 9 + Premium Pack 5

As ever your right on the mark, I wasn't changing the ID in between changing the analytics choice. Many thanks.

(Which now means I'm off to republish a lot of material and finally escape the nagging messages from Google about switching to the newer analytics.)

Re: Help+Manual 9 + Premium Pack 5

Firstly thank-you. Just got v9 running, so exploring the new features, and found what may be a bug. In the menu for the Google Analytics settings, changes to the radio button choice can't be saved. The project always returns back to its original setting, even if you can something else on the same me...

Re: Help+Manual 8 and Premium Pack 4 Released

Already used the mini-TOCs to replace a lot of previously manually maintained lists - many thanks. And PDF page rotation in several docs. Lovely work.

I'm sure I'll find use for the other new functions soon.

Re: Is there a way to automate list + links to child topics?

Its one of the new HM8 features. Insert Mini TOC. Already used it to replace the manual lists of sub-topics that I had in some documents.

Wow and Thank You

Having a role in support forums for my own product I know how support can always seem to be a continuous stream of problems and issues. So here for a change, having a few months ago migrated some 70 documentation projects from HM V4 to HM V7: Yesterday I needed to go through an images folder removin...

Adding Gmail Feedback Option to a V3 Premium Pack Skin

I've seen this asked for and I had it as an option in my old HMv4 templates and seriously miss it. So today I got it working in a HMv7 Premium Pack 3 skin. The basic URL required is: http://mail.google.com/mail/?view=cm&fs=1&tf=1&to=bob@example.com&su=SubjectText&body=Comments - ...

Change the selected anchors to Left, Right and Top. Don't have Bottom selected.

Re: Testing Mobile View

Revisiting this yesterday and finally managed to get local desktop testing of the skins phone and tablet views working. Within Google Chrome's developer tools (Ctrl+I), display the device toolbar (Ctrl+Shift+M). Then select the required device from the toolbar and, most importantly, reload the page....

Re: Premium Pack 3.44 Maintenance Update

Tim, Since I was one of the people asking for support of search term highlighting support from external Zoom searches I got excited to see that listed. Having already installed the maintenance pack and used it to update my custom skin, I have seen and confirmed the new feature in action. Once I get ...

Re: Standalone Help Page Usage/Suggestion/Request

Martin, An interesting idea but I think I will avoid trying that. The non-PP skin uses a flat-folder output so you would have all its baggage, images, scripts, etc in the same folder as the PP skin's html files. I couldn't help but be constantly concerned about some unplanned or unintended interacti...

Re: Standalone Help Page Usage/Suggestion/Request

Fully understood and appreciated Tim. I've looked at some of the PP scripts and immediately backed away as their contents show what we pay ECSoftware for, ie. detailed knowledge of the behaviour of different browsers, platforms, etc. I've presented what I can do with the non-PP skin to the developer...

Standalone Help Page Usage/Suggestion/Request

Having started using HMv7 in earnest, I demonstrated to my developer colleagues the various options they could incorporate our PPv3 skinned help directly into our products own web pages; i.e. field popups, topic popups, embedded help. However, their request is to be able to have a method for a help ...

PDF Default Template Behaviour

A small but frequent annoyance to me now that I've switched to HMv7: With HTML generation, if the path to the template is not correct the generation stops with a clear "Error" in the publishing tasks list. With PDF generation, if the path to the template is not correct, generation defaults...

Thanks Tim. Have added that to my list of options. As I said, nice when two great products work so well together.
