Re: How to quickly insert links to another topic?

Or is there some logic that is being used to select the default topic and I just don't see the logic? Hi Debra, It's not random. The selected topic is the nearest alphabetical ID match to the text of the link you are creating. So if you write "see banana" , and then highlight "banana...

Re: List of Anchors

Hi Jamie, If you view your Webhelp in Firefox or Chrome, there is a nifty add-on which will display all the anchors on the page. Then a right-click on the displayed anchor and copy link location copies the page URL+anchor to the clipboard. I find it very useful: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-GB/fire...

PageUp, PageDown keys in the TOC

I'm not sure if this is a wish list item, or a bug report. :? When the TOC has focus, it would be very handy (and logical) if the PageUp, PageDown keys moved to the next top-level topic/chapter/config item. Holding them down would then be a very quick way of moving through a long TOC. The right-arro...

Re: Image scaling

I have screenshots that should be displayed at their full width, if possible, and then scaled down if necessary. I have others that should be displayed at a maximum of e.g. 80 % of their true size, and then scaled down from there if necessary. But whether the maximum size should be 100 % of their p...

Re: Image scaling

In my case, the maximum size is not the same for all images on the page. Hi Rainer, The script doesn't set all images the same. The maximum size for each is set to its own natural size. In other words if an image is 800 pixels wide, that will be the size it is displayed at, and scaled down from tha...

Re: Image scaling

Or is there a trick to achieve this, that I am not aware of? Hi Rainer, Assuming you are talking only about Webhelp/HTML output, you can do anything you like with a bit of scripting, either in the page template, or using the Insert > HTML Code Object option. For example here is a bit of script I us...

Re: List all comments

Hi John, A few years ago I created a small Windows utility to find, list, copy and print all the comments in a project. It's still available as a download if anyone wants it, see: https://helpman.it-authoring.com/viewtopic.php?p=41478#p41478 It was originally for HM5, but still works fine in HM7 (or...

Re: How to publish with alternate image set?

Chris Middleton wrote:(2) I'm considering using Build Events to copy (overwrite) branded images into the Project Search Path before publish.

Hi Chris,

You don't need to copy them. Just rename the folder they are in to match one of the folders the Search paths.

Re: Searching for Dead Links

2) when I click on a link of that HTML report, it takes me to that topic in the HTML report, but does not change my position in H&M to the topic in question. Hi Olivier, It's working for me. But only for the Topic ID link on the right side of the report. The links in the Refers To list don't wo...

Re: Martin's TOC modifier

Is there a fundamental reason why v3 responsive skins cannot be modified to do this, or is it just that you do not use them so have not needed to implement the enhancement for them? Hi Tim, The PP v3 skins differ fundamentally in their working from other skins. There is no TOC file as such which co...

Re: Delineator/separator in TOC - chapter without text?

Most interested, Martin. Biggest question is around maintenance, because maintenance is our middle name ('constant change' being the other middle name...) Hi Dave, Maintenance shouldn't be too bad. If you change the order of TOC topics, or make them child topics, or insert new topics between them, ...
