Re: Exclude Topic from PDF

You're welcome Tonea.

We all make silly mistakes. Guess how I knew that might be the problem. :)

Re: navigation to previous topic

Hi Gillian, The navigation buttons in the topic header are to allow the Help to be read as a User Manual, from one topic to the next in order, or back to recap the previous topic. If instead you use the Help as a context help system, clicking links between topics, the navigation buttons in the brows...

Re: WebHelp - after linking to anchor, return to same place?

Your Firefox problems have something to do with the (very) new version, which seems to be badly broken. It's not just the tabs, it's pretty much everything that has to do with clicks that execute script functions. Hi Tim, I'm a bit surprised to hear you say that, because my Firefox seems to be work...

Re: WebHelp - after linking to anchor, return to same place?

Hi Tim, Surely you are referring there only to the V3 Webhelp, not Webhelp generally? I hear what you say about speed, but I have never found it a problem. For example H&M's own non-V3 Webhelp works just fine, including the Back button: https://www.helpandmanual.com/help/ Those topic pages load ...

Re: WebHelp - after linking to anchor, return to same place?

Hi Dave,

Working for me in Google Chrome on Windows10. Just tested on: https://www.helpandmanual.com/help/

Maybe not on tablets?

Re: WebHelp - after linking to anchor, return to same place?

Hi Dave, The Back arrow/button in the browser bar should do that. Nothing to do with H&M. Certainly works in Firefox. However, if the "place of departure" was inside an expanded toggle, you are likely to find it collapsed when you get back, and needing to be expanded again. Martin.

Re: In-line Editing in Web Help?

Lindsay Colahan wrote:Would I add the div wrapper to the skin? Or is it another html page template that you are referring to?

Hi Lindsay,

That goes in the skin if you are using one. I will post some more code examples later today.

Martin.

Re: In-line Editing in Web Help?

Has anyone been able to get in-line editing to work with Help & Manual web help output, either using code in a project file or a skin? I am just having a fantasy right now that involves me being able to publish a separate version of my web help for my SMEs to edit and review.... Hi Lindsay, The...

Re: CHM & HTML output different using same skin

Hi Chris, CHM is a 20-year-old Microsoft format which hasn't been upgraded since it was first released. It contains known bugs, and very limited scope for customizing the appearance. Publishing to CHM with a Webhelp skin is asking for grief. There are some CHM-specific skins available. You might lik...

Re: Using H&M for a Website

One big advantage of using H&M for a website is that you can add any ancillary files to the Baggage Files, and they get uploaded along with everything else. No worry about forgetting to upload them, or creating a separate folder structure for them on the server. You can edit them if necessary di...

Re: 2 TOC questions - WebHelp (Visual emphasis & expand all)

Hi Dave, Yes, you can change the CSS for the TOC in the TOC template. Each level can be in a different colour, font, coloured background, etc. Under Configuration > Publishing Options > Webhelp > Table of Contents . Yes, under Configuration > Publishing Options > Webhelp > Navigation tick On load, e...

Re: Tried to change banner_company.jpg, got error

Since realizing what the problem is with your graphics editor (doesn't save the copy it opened) I've been thinking about ways to deal with this. Hi Tim, How about an option to copy and paste the image back into the Toolbox? If you display the image in a separate window, a button on there to paste n...

Hi Tonea,

Make sure you haven't accidentally got Webhelp ticked when publishing PDF:
