Re: Unclear on customize-ability of PP skins

Hi Dave, In H&M every single thing is customizable. It's just that some things are a lot easier than others. Some require skills in HTML or Javascript. In my case it's the graphics skills lacking. What is actually wrong with a pink square having a dark green circle in one corner labelled in oran...

Re: Puzzle - Project Explorer <> Editor

[EDIT] Success after placing the modified (and re-named) hmskin into the original folder! Thanks, all. Hi Dave, Don't do that if you value your sanity. It might disappear in a program upgrade. Put it back in your project folder, or somewhere else if you prefer. Scroll to the bottom of the skin drop...

Re: Puzzle - Project Explorer <> Editor

However, the H+M help file says that "To edit a skin, make a copy of the .hmskin skin file in your project folder...." Hi Dave, Tim meant "make a copy of the required .hmskin skin file from Program Files into your project folder". It doesn't have to be in the project folder if y...

Re: Filename capitalisation

Don't agree Martin :-) Our case is the same as Tobias -- different meanings depending on capitalisation. OK, but mixed-case naming on the internet will cause you grief in the end. That's why H&M lower-cases all the file names. A topic ID and a file name are symbols, not titles. If upper and low...

Re: Filename capitalisation

It makes far more sense to change all topic IDs to lower case. But I promised never to mention it again, so I won't. :)

Segoe UI font in Windows 10 Creators edition

This has no direct connection with H&M other than the fact that a nifty utility has been written by Sergey Tkachenko, author of the TRichView editor which is used in H&M. In the latest Windows 10 Creators Edition, Microsoft have made a couple of changes which are causing much grief to users ...

Re: Comment indicator in TOC?

Is there any way to search the whole project (or something like previous/next for comments?), so I can be sure I find them all? Hi Tamara, A few years ago I posted a simple Windows utility program to find and list all comments in a H&M project. It was made for HM5 originally but still works fin...

Re: Link to Page in H&M

Hi Linda, Depending on which type of skin you are using and your settings, links to individual topic pages look like this: http://something.com/index.html?some_topic.htm http://something.com/some_topic.htm http://something.com/some_topic.html Where some_topic is the Topic ID (which you can see in th...

Re: Font embedding (or not) in PDF

Ed Hawco wrote:I use Google Open Sans ... "Cannot find or create the font 'OpenSans' ... The machine I use has Open Sans installed

Hi Ed,

I've no idea if this is relevant, but there seems to be a discrepancy there between "OpenSans" and "Open Sans".

Re: Internal ZIP failure

Your file name appears to contain a space (between ...10 EN....).

I've no idea if that is the cause of this problem, but having spaces in a file name/path is an extremely risky thing to do and will always come back and bite you at some stage.

Re: V3 Responsive Skin : Remove Project Title from Header

Hi, The V3 Responsive Skins are edited using the PP Toolbox application, not in H&M itself. hmToolbox.exe in your program installation folder. It's useful to create a desktop shortcut for this. You can then edit the HTML in the Page Template for the skin. Notepad++ (free) is the preferred text e...

Re: Print text

Hi Paul,

How are you printing HTML?

If you use File > Print in your browser (CTRL+P), toggles will print exactly as displayed on the page, expanded or not.

For topic pages, right-click on the topic, then This Frame > Print Frame.

Martin.
