Re: Question around Save As

Hi Dave, To make a duplicate of the entire project which can be edited as a separate project, I simply close H&M and use Windows File Explorer. Just make a copy of the entire project folder somewhere else, and rename it. All the paths and references in H&M are relative, so it will all work f...

Re: Increase padding around text in TOC

Hi Steve,

The CSS settings are in the Configuration > Publishing Options > Webhelp > Table of Contents template.

Add or increase the padding-left and padding-right settings for hilight1 to hilight6.

regards,

Martin.

Re: I need to export my toc only to RTF

First, one of the main reasons that I got my client to choose this application is that they DO NOT use Word and do not want anything that sits on Word. So that rules out solutions that required Word (in any version). Hi Leah, My feelings about Word exactly. :) So why do you want RTF and which appli...

Re: Graphic Parsing

On image sizing: For people with some residual vision it might be helpful to not limit the expansion of the image to its original size. In some cases it might be better for them to have a much larger image, even if it is a little "jaggy". Hi Tim, They can do that by zooming the browser, e...

Re: I need to export my toc only to RTF

Thanks. That seems pretty complicated for something that is a necessary part of most early review cycles. Hi Leah, Not really, in the context of all the other things you need to do to create a finished help project. In "traditional" H&M (i.e. without skins) there is a simple "no ...

Re: I need to export my toc only to RTF

Hi Leah, Try this: 1. publish your project to Webhelp without any skin. 2. create a new temporary topic. 3. Project > File > Load Topic from File , from the just created hmcontent.html file in your output folder. 4. print that topic, possibly using a PDF generator virtual printer program* to create ...

Re: Rotating an image

I think I know the answer already ("no") but I'll ask anyway. Is there a way to rotate an image *without editing the image itself?* Hi Ed, You can do this in HTML-based output using transform in CSS. So for example: <div style="transform:rotate(30deg);"> <img src="... > </d...

Re: Toggle arrow icons back to front?

Thanks Tonea. That's what is so confusing. The plus/minus icons (as in the H&M CHM help) clearly show what will happen if clicked. The toggle arrows, and book icons (as in https://helpandmanual.com/help/) show what has happened . The GUI experts must have a ruling on this? For me, the only sensi...

Toggle arrow icons back to front?

Am I alone (as they say in the letters pages) in thinking that the arrow icons on toggles are the wrong way round? In a conventional Windows drop-down control, a down-arrow indicates that more content is available, and that clicking it will expand that content below the arrow. I have swapped over hm...

Re: Where are my sources?

Hi. I looked all through the Help and while there was info about backups, there was nothing that said where my actual source files sit. I'm working on-site with a client who bought a single-user license (that's me!). They have me set up on a laptop and Hemp & Manual is installed locally on that...

Online Help warning

Hi Tim,

Clicking the Help & Manual Online Help link at top right of the forum pages produces this in Firefox:

ec_not_secure.png

It's because it's an old URL with some content not secure. This alternative URL works fine: https://www.helpandmanual.com/help/

cheers,

Martin.

You're welcome Tonea.

Re: navigation to previous topic

Hi Gillian, The navigation buttons in the topic header are to allow the Help to be read as a User Manual, from one topic to the next in order, or back to recap the previous topic. If instead you use the Help as a context help system, clicking links between topics, the navigation buttons in the brows...
