Re: Cannot re-size Open Image dialog box

There should be a resize corner on the bottom right corner of the dialog. Open Image has a taller minimum height than some other dialogs, however, because it contains a lot of controls. If the corner is missing I would try restarting Windows before reinstalling. 8) Hi Tim, On my screen (Windows 7 a...

Hi Ga,

You can enter the required paddings directly in the box, separated by spaces. The settings are entered clockwise from the top:

Re: Open baggage link in a new window

Hi Thomas, In webhelp use an Internet link instead of a File link. Set the Target to a New window. The Address URL will be the same as your topic pages, i.e. instead of http://your_domain.com/webhelp/index.html enter http://your_domain.com/webhelp/your_file.pdf If you want to use a File link for out...

Re: Clicking Webhelp search results jumps to wrong position

This is a known problem on many web sites, caused by the browser calculating the anchor jump position before the page is fully loaded and rendered. It seems to afflict Firefox more than other browsers. The user fix is to wait until the page has fully loaded, click in the browser address bar, and pre...

Re: Help with Images in Output PDF

No, it does not export metafiles. It cannot Hi Alexander, Thanks for the detailed reply. Clearly you know your own program, but I'm a bit surprised by this. To export a metafile rather than a bitmap, I simply use the same drawing routine and pass a TMetafileCanvas instead of a TCanvas. StretchDrawn...

Re: Help with Images in Output PDF

When you use a WMF, EMF Hi Alexander, But unfortunately Impict won't export metafiles. I have often wanted that, should I add it to the wish list? I'm a great fan of EMF metafiles and use them a lot. They seem to have fallen out of favour being an ancient Microsoft format, but they still work great...

Re: Embedding lines into a style

You can get around this by pressing SHIFT+ENTER instead of ENTER, which will enter a line break without a new paragraph, but then you won't get the normal spacing between the lines. Hi Tansy, The usual way to get round this is to create 4 styles. One for the middle paragraphs my_style without borde...

Re: Help with Images in Output PDF

I have always been puzzled by the PDF export from H&M. My application has an editor section using the same editor as H&M (TRichView), and creates PDF exports using the same PDF engine as H&M (wPDF). But I don't see the same line-width rounding problems which crop up in H&M. Here for ...

Re: Help with Images in Output PDF

Hi Sheri, How are you creating the callouts? Try selecting the callout in Impict and then selecting this option: impict_smooth.png Having said that, I prefer to create blank callouts in Impict itself. The callout text is then written in an editor program (you could use the H&M editor), screen ca...

Re: IPP Preview in File Explorer

Just to add in case it is relevant, I noticed that previously my IPP files had the red "i" icon showing, but no preview available.

After installing Alexander's latest beta, I now get the preview, but no icon.

Re: HelpNDoc vs Help+Manual

I'm surprised this hasn't been answered. Hi, It is possible to answer this only if you use both programs. I don't imagine many H&M users do that. Not me, for example. I very much doubt that HelpNDoc is better than H&M, but what I know for certain is that their user support couldn't be any b...

Re: EWriter setup

Hi Alexander, Ok, now I understand. The problem is that I'm running H&M at 120dpi. I have now tried EWriter on a 1024-wide display set at 96dpi (not a setting I ever use) and it has come up 800 pixels wide instead of the 1000 which I set. This means I can safely set it much wider than 1000 on my...

Re: EWriter setup

Nope. This is relative pixels, always has been. Hi Alexander, I'm sorry, but I don't understand. What are "relative" pixels? The EWriter setup dialog clearly says "pixels". :? I have set the EWriter width to 1000 pixels. If I set it any wider it is too big on old 1024-wide displ...
