Re: Export Style Names behavior with WebHelp Output

Ah, yes, now everything makes sense. The "ó" character becomes xF3 in UTF-8 and obviously it doesn't work. Thank you very much for your help. Hi Julio, We have identified the problem. Those accented characters are perfectly valid in HTML5. However, the CSS stylesheet that H&M exports was ANSI-encode...

Re: Export Style Names behavior with WebHelp Output

I am sorry, but I think you misunderstood me, that is exactly what I did when I said I deselected that option, or as you said, turned it off. I know that text styles do correct their names if the option is turned off by changing them to something like 'par1', but I am talking exclusively about table...

Export Style Names behavior with WebHelp Output

Hi, we are starting to move our documentation from CHM to HTML format and we have just found a problem, both on H&M 7.5.4.4760 and H&M 8.2.0.5620 , that is not reproducible on CHM, only on HTML outputs. Here is the situation: We have a style repository that is used for building a wide range of produ...

Re: Accessing an element inside the hmcontent iframe

Thank you for your reply, Tim, but I am still getting an undefined object after that interval. Just to be sure, I am placing this code on section Configuration - Publishing Options - WebHelp - Layout , at the following location: <div id="hmcontentbox"> <script type="text/javascript"> var defaulttopi...

Accessing an element inside the hmcontent iframe

Hello, I am having a lot of trouble trying to access elements inside the 'hmcontent' iframe used by H&M templates to build HTML pages. Currently I am using the 'WebHelp, iFrames Responsive Blue.hmskin' template on v7.5.4.4760 . The problem is that I created a simple feedback form for each page and I...

Re: Best practices - recommended max. size of project?

All projects are added to the main project by using one of the options on the contextual menu of a topic ( Add Before , Add After , or Add Child ). On the Insert New Topic or Chapter window, select the Include Help Project tab and then a project in the Project File option. No, all small projects are...

Re: Best practices - recommended max. size of project?

1) All projects must have all custom builds, so we can control which part is compiled and where. Imagine that we have a chapter that is fully used by a tutorial but only used partially by another tutorial. When compiling the partially used one, we must know which part belongs to this tutorial and wh...

Re: Best practices - recommended max. size of project?

We have a product that demands different types of tutorials, and these tutorials contain topics or chapters that are common to all, so we created a project for each chapter and added custom builds to differentiate them. Then we created a single project with tables of contents for each tutorial and a...

Re: Floating server license - how does the pricing work?

OK, thanks. Just one more question: Today we have four H&M7 server licenses on a server, let's say server1 . We also have four other servers ( server2 , server3 , server4 , and server5 ) responsible for product builds. When we want to start a product build, our system picks up one of those build ser...

Re: Floating server license - how does the pricing work?

According to the documentation, before using H&M via command line, we must activate a license by using a command line like this: helpman.exe lic:XXXX . The documentation also states that this procedure only needs to be performed once. This means that this license is now attached to that server for a...

Command line option to prevent setting files to a read-only status during a build

As I explained on this post (https://helpman.it-authoring.com/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=16170), we would like to ask for a way of creating a build without locking all files in a read-only status. We are now using server machines with multiple cores and we would like to take advantage of these cores, thus...

Re: Starting Help & Manual command prompt on multiple cores

OK, thanks for your answers and yes, a command switch to turn it off would be useful because when we start a build, TFS just download all files to a build machine and therefore there is no need to worry about changes to those specific files. Update: Confirmation, the assets used in the export are lo...

Re: Starting Help & Manual command prompt on multiple cores

OK, now I see what is going on here. But just to make it perfectly clear, that exclusivity also applies to shared skins and repositories, not just projects? Thank you, Hi Julio, Ah, that makes sense. Help+Manual is opening the project exclusively during publishing to make sure that nobody can edit i...

Re: Starting Help & Manual command prompt on multiple cores

I tried the following scenario and it did not work either: - A Server with four unused licenses, as in the next figure: helpman_key_monitor.png - Started three command lines in parallel but received an error message as the next image for each command line: helpman_cannot_print.png Hi Julio, This pro...
