Kind of a survey...

:?: In your opinion, what is the best tool for obtaining a quality image reduction/resize? Impict does pretty good for me when I use the Quality Resize approach but... I really hate the idea of taking a screen shot (I use SnagIt), rezising it in Photoshop or PaintShop Pro and then opening it in Impi...

Although Impict is a separate program its installation is integral to that of H&M and it can only be installed together with H&M. Also, technically your license does not actually permit you to install the program in two completely separate locations... 8) Tim, I understand the licensing imp...

More info on the RoboHelp --> Flare here: http://www.intranetjournal.com/articles/200506/pij_06_28_05a.html Nothing new here... Nothing new on their website either. :? Seems strange not to have more info available if they are doing beta-test releases right now. No price info either.

So, the key question is, "As an owner of H&M 3.6 should I wait for the Upgrade Price (to be defined), or should I just jump in now and buy a new copy (not another license) of 3.6?"

'Tis a puzzlement. :?

Impict Standalone?

Has anyone managed to get Impict running as a standalone :?: I have H&M and have fallen in love with the ease of image manipulation and layering available in Impict. (I use it all the time even though the last Online Help I did was in RoboHelp.) Now I'm at a new position and doing manuals & ...

What do you use for Image Manipulation?

I'm looking for recommendations on a stand alone application that can be used in place of Impict. I have been working contract at one company and their budget is drying up so I've been asked what "tools" I've been using. I initially started using H&M because this was a closed group. Ho...

I use Total Commander (formerly known as Windows Commander) for all my ftp and file management needs. It's the first program I ever install whenever I set up a new Windows computer. It has all the file manipulation functions you ever wanted (and many you never realized you needed) and more. More in...

The Demise of RoboHelp?

Not sure if this is the right place for this but anyway, here it is... >> Joe Welinske, President of WritersUA, claimed today in the Conference for User Assistance opening session that RoboHelp will likely no longer be "in common use" within 2 years. Welinske claimed that the product has b...

Previously, I would go directly to a PDF for my printed output of help. I was quite pleased with it since it greatly reduced the amount of work needed to make people that wanted a hard copy happy. However, after starting to use text wrap selection (when inserting a graphic) I'm having to output in ....

Spacing not maintained between link and text

If you create a link to another topic or popup and include the following space in the link (default way H&M works) the space between the link and the following text in the compiled output (HTMLHelp) is maintained. However, when you edit the link text and remove the following space and replace it...

Multiple Image Cutaround Problem

This issue occurs when you use multiple images in a single topic. Designate one of the images as "left of text". Enter some text (one or more short lines/paragraphs). Designate a 2nd image as "Right of text" and add more text. Generate HTMLHelp. If you resize the topic pane there...

Thanks for the reply. :D

Yes, what you indicate is true. However, based on context there are times when the amount of whitespace required is not the same. This means that I need to create (and track) multiple graphics which all have the same content.

Set Image whitespace when inserting as a cutaround

I really like the ability to insert an image and flag it as either in-line, text left or text right. It makes doing a simple cutaround a lot easier (although when I need to maintain text/image placement I still use a table approach). My additional wish would to be able to set the amount of whitespac...

Here, here

I agree. When doing an overlay of multiple images on a single background image its almost impossible to get drop-shadow and transparency the same across all foreground images.

Now that I know about bookmarks...

WOW :!: My eyes have been opened  IMHO, Bookmarks are better than comments. Three suggestions. #1. Provide a button on the Bookmarks dialog box that will allow you to open the Bookmarks listing. (Just like you get if you set the bookmarks to display on Project Open.) #2. Add the ability to in...
