File Properties of an .exe Help file
Hi The .exe that is generated by publishing an 'eBooks for Windows' has a constant Program File Version (unless you - E C Software - update the tool). This does not really seem correct, because the file version actually has different contents every time we make a change to the Help file. Our Version...

Re: Accessing images in a style repository
Thanks Tim It does seem logical that if the topics in the repository are available to linked projects, and the images in the topics themselves are available when editing in the repository, then the images should likewise be available without an explicit Search Path in the target project. I look forw...

Re: Accessing images in a style repository
Adding to this question. My objective is to find a place where all my projects can access shared images WITHOUT an additional Search Path entry in each Project. If the Topics can be in the Repository without needing the Repository to be in the Search Path, then why not the images too? The Repository...

Set variable value from Build
HI This is a long shot - we have just 'multiplied' the number of variants that I need to publish. Any chance I could reset the value of a text variable based on the choices in the Build conditions? I know I could substitute the whole variable file using a command line. But I am still in a developmen...

Re: Rights to open a file?
HI It's an hmxp. And it is stored on a network drive because several TWs access it from time to time, and we occasionally even had more than one of us working simultaneously on separate Topics (not the case here.) I opened it with Notepad - not that I understand what I am looking at, and it LOOKS si...

Re: Rights to open a file?
HI
Thanks for the response.
I tried following your suggestions, but I get the same message. Any idea why? I had renamed the name and extension of the old file but it is still in the folder.
Anything else to try?
Thanks
Rob.

Rights to open a file?
I am getting a message that I may not have enough rights to open a file. What does that mean? (and how can I fix it quickly!)
Thanks
Rob
Thanks

Re: Spacing before headings
Thanks
I remember vaguely being told something about the printer driver previously (like years ago).
The reply is a bit too techie for me - can you give me a little direction on what to look for/where to make the change? Please?

Spacing before headings
HI I'm publishing pdf documents (many are just "printed" versions of Help. but some also just stand-alone .pdfs.) These sometimes include ToCs or topics from Help source files too. I am using a Style repository, and a custom skin that I have used previously. On output, I am seeing problems...

Re: Save/Import/Export Search Path
Thanks Simo.
Look brilliant - I will try to implement (but it's going to be AFTER the current deadline) - so, next release.
As a long-term solution for our multiple brandings, this is going to be a real help, I think.

Customizing the Web Skin for a .exe/.eWriter file
Hi 1. A long time ago, I managed to get our company logo and webpage link in to the header of the customized skin we are using (Screen shot attached) . Alas - so long ago that I cannot remember how to do this, nor can I find where it may have been answered in the forums. Please help - I need to chan...

Re: Save/Import/Export Search Path
Hi You said: there wasn't a method to do this because I was thinking in the context of some separate, specific method for this. Sorry, my bad.. :? Me: Is there anything 'wrong' with this method? i.e. It may not be the 'best' solution - but is there any reason why it would not work? You: No, this is ...

Re: Save/Import/Export Search Path
Thanks Tim. Yes, I am guilty of the 'too many folders' crime. Very guilty . . .and I will try to do better. But here are two questions. (I can only describe 'why' in a long rambling explanation - let's skip that!) 1. I output two 'brandings' - each has some shared graphics, but for many, many of the...
