Re: Preference to always open a topic as a new tab.

I work a bit differently. I'm working on A1 and see that it has a link to B2. Now if have to go back to the TOC and right click on A1 to open in a new tab, and then click on B2 to open it. Two steps. However in the new A1 tab, I've lost my position and the original A1 tab which had my current positi...

Re: Preference to always open a topic as a new tab.

Tim, Maybe I'm doing something wrong. If I have one topic open, call it topic A1. Then how do you open topic B2 without replacing the topic A1 tab?

You may like dragging the word around, but it's not consistent with other windows apps. Maybe H&M can make it a configurable preference.

Preference to always open a topic as a new tab.

The current method of opening a topic in a new tab is, in my opinion, cumbersome. When you right click on a topic in order to open it in a new tab, the topic is first opened and replaces the document in the left most tab and then if you select "open in new tab" puts another copy in a new t...

Re: Show snippet as placeholder

Hi Tim, Yes, that's exactly what I was looking for. While I have your attention :) 1. Is there a way to always open pages in a new tab? 2. How do I refresh a page that has links without having to re-open it? I've been re-opening the page, but it always replaces the the first tab before I get a chanc...

Show snippet as placeholder

In the editor, is there a way to show snippets as short placeholders rather than be fully expanded? For some of larger pages are built from a collection of snippets and having them appear as placeholders rather than fully expanded would make reorganizing them easier.

Re: Error linking to topic in an external H&M file

HI TIm, Thanks the snippet approach worked. I assume that if the snippet has links to sub-pages, then each of those sub-pages also needs to be imported into their own page as a snippet and that the page ids match?

Re: Error linking to topic in an external H&M file

HI Tim,

Thanks for the usual quick reply. If I understand correctly, that if we still want to embed pages from another H&M project, then it has to be an entire collection, not just a single page. Correct?

Error linking to topic in an external H&M file

I seem to be missing something. Using external H&M links, I've been able to link an entire table of contents in another project to be a TOC entry in this project. What I can't seem to make happen is to pull in one topic from another project as a single page into this project. The compiler gives ...

Re: GIT support

Hi Tim, Visual Studio's version control support has made some members of our team "lazy" and they prefer in-app version control support rather than resorting to the command line or 3rd party tools. Anyway, good to hear that "support for git" will be coming in a future point relea...

Re: Double/triple click drag still not implemented.

Hello Martin, In Windows click-drag extending by word is a non-standard UI. The standard UI in most text applications is click drag extends by character and double-click drag extends by word. It does that in word, notepad, Visual studio, notepad++, text boxes in all web browsers, just about every ap...

Double/triple click drag still not implemented.

I've mentioned this before about H&M 7, and was hoping that this standard would be implemented in H&M 8, but alas it's not. Most text editors (including this forum's edit boxes) allow you to double click to select a word and then extend the selection, by word, by dragging left or right. H&am...

GIT support

Just installed H&M 8. Any chance that GIT support will be coming soon? We are transitioning from SVN to GIT and H&M seems to be the last application we use that doesn't have GIT support.

Re: Automatically add file extension to GIF.

Click on Publish and select Multi-page GIF image. Then type into the output file name field: c:\temp\dan. File is saved as dan instead of dan.gif. However if you hit the "..." to get the file save dialog and enter c:\temp\dan in that dialog, it automatically appends the .gif when you click...
