Re: Output extension not honoured in embedded HelpXplains
Xplains are separate entities, created by a separate program. They have nothing to do with Help+Manual itself directly. Similarly, Help+Manual wouldn't change any file extensions etc. in embedded YouTube videos. :) Hi Tim, Well I agree, up to a point. That's what you would expect if creating Xplain...

Re: Play an Xplain OnMouseClick in another Xplain
Hi Mark, I have created a bit of Webhelp to test this: http://85a.uk/hx_click_test/ I used the Example-12 which you requested. I hope there is no copyright issue with that, if so I will delete it. :? Clicking the image opens a second Xplain in a lightbox effect over it. Is that what you wanted? Unfo...

Output extension not honoured in embedded HelpXplains
I set all my Webhelp output to use the .php extension in HTML Export Options.
(This is the only way to be absolutely sure content won't get cached by any known browser.)
However, this option is not honoured by embedded HelpXplains, which are created as .html files.
Martin.

Re: Saving Project Extremely Slow
Yes I get it is in a compressed format, BUT the point is it is much slower than v7 and I wouldn't expect to see a not responding message when saving... Hi Darren, I think that may be the latest Windows10 update. Several of my more complex CAD and video applications now show "not responding&quo...

Hi Mark,
Put your own version with the same name in your Baggage files.
Baggage files are compiled last into the output, and overwrite any with the same name.
cheers,
Martin.

Hi Mark,Mark Wilsdorf wrote: ↑Sat Feb 22, 2020 10:28 pmI want to show the second Xplain in a lightbox on the current page
I will do a bit of exploring in HM8 and come back -- I tend to use my own HTML Code Objects to display stuff in topics.
cheers,
Martin.

Hi Mark, Select the object to be clicked. Then right-click anywhere ( the object must be selected first ). On the menu which pops up, click the bottom item Edit HTML Source Code . Without damaging the existing HTML, insert whatever new HTML you want. That might be a normal <a href=" link to ope...

Re: HX design opinion/suggestion
Hi Mark, A trick I've used is to have a third shape which is a copy of the original screenshot which is below the first shape. Have it animated to fade in on slide exit, over and concealing the first shape, and before the cursor moves over it. However, I have decided in future never to use slide exi...

Re: Quality of screenshots is very low in Webhelp
Hi Marie, I posted some script earlier which prevents images from going fuzzy by always displaying them at the original pixel size, or smaller. This works in all browsers and at all system zoom settings that I have tested. The downside is that they will be quite small on some monitors. It's here: ht...

Re: Shapes question
As a future feature request though, it'd be a nice option to be able to Copy the captured slide (*.png) within HX, Paste it into some other program for editing, then Copy & Paste it back into HX to replace the original slide. Would be much simpler & quicker than unpacking/repacking a Zip ar...

Re: Double/triple click drag still not implemented.
Hi Dan,
An ordinary click and drag extends the selection by whole words at a time. What more do you need?
Puzzled.

Is your Ewriter Help already running? Windows won't let H&M create an .exe if the previous file is running.
Unlike Webhelp, you have to remember to close the previous Ewriter before editing it further.

Re: Floating server license - how does the pricing work?
Hi Tim, I don't need a floating licence, but I'm interested in the mechanism. I understand the process of "pinning" a licence before an intended disconnection from the internet. But what happens in the event of an unintended loss of connection? How does your server know that connection has...

Re: Floating server license - how does the pricing work?
Sorry to be dense -- this sounds as though, if we want 11 people to draw on the FSL, we need to buy 11 H+M individual licenses for each of the 11 local computers. Right?(At any point in time, I can't imagine more than 2 in concurrent use). Hi Dave, My reading of Tim's explanation is that if there w...

Looking good!
I like HM8 so far, especially the new Workspaces feature. Thanks for all your hard work on H&M yet again. :) One thing -- I noticed the CHM is still accessed via "Online Help". Surely that should be "Local Help"? Most folks would understand "Online Help" to mean Web...
