Re: General Info for new H&M user

...so that these items ONLY appear in one place and can be "included" into any other program module documentation Hi Keith, H&M can do modular Help files, but they are mainly intended for situations where several developers are working on different parts of the Help. The easiest solut...

Hi Thorsten,

Flash seems total overkill for a "coming soon" icon. Why not use an animated gif

The best way to add more space between the caption and the style is to use the image spacing property. Double-click on the image and then add a "Spacing" value in pixels, directly below the Alignment setting. Hi Tim, This doesn't work. The spaced image is placed in a table, with the capti...

Re: Adding space between image and image caption

My image captions seem to 'stick' to the images:( I tried changing the 'Image caption' style, namely the paragraph settings -> Spacing before and after, but this seems to have no effect. Is there a way to add some space in between except creating a transparent border around the image? Hi, The Image...

Re: Real keyboards for writers

it is no longer generally possible to buy a high-quality keyboard with proper mechanical switches. Hi Tim, Still available from the UK. Go to http://rswww.com and enter 263-2788 in the search box. I don't know how the keyboard price compares, but shipping to Europe should be less. I have no connect...

Re: Extra line breaks using conditional text with table

When putting conditional flags around a table, there are line breaks added both before and after the table when outputting to chm. Any way to suppress these line breaks? Hi Eric, In HM4 a table is always in its own paragraph by itself. If you put conditional text flags around the table, each flag w...

Re: Annotate file?

Is there a way to make author's notes in topics that do not get compiled into the build? - a way to annotate the file? Hi Keith, Insert > Comment / Bookmark... menu item. Then click the Help button or see http://www.helpandmanual.com/help/help_toc.html?hm_working_topics_bookmarks.htm Martin.

how hard would it be to change (or allow an option) in the insertion of graphics to have their base position be on the same line as the bottom of the tails of letters with them, rather than the imaginary line on which the letters sit? Hi Jonathan, The RVF editor has two possible vertical align opti...

PS ...though I might hit EC up for allowing a negative "spacing" parameter when inserting images Hi Erik, The RVF editor supports this, as you can see if you enter a negative spacing value when inserting pictures. The image overlaps the text, and additional spaces are needed to clear it. ...

In Browser-Based help: If I click on one of the results from my search, the topic page loads, but not all the code that I added to the "Topic Pages" will render (e.g. I changed the padding of tables, added @media scripts, and they are not working in this instance.) Hi Mark, The Search fun...
