Re: H&M4 and CSS files...

I would like the header text (TOPIC_HEADER) to be 22pt. How would I do this? Hi Mark, By default, the topic headers use the Heading1 standard style. To change it: Format > Edit Styles... > Heading1 (Standard) > Font Settings button. In addition, you can change individual topic headers to other styl...

Re: alright, but still...

There simply shouldn't be a blank space after an embedded topic, even if one enters a paragraph mark... Hi, You can't enter a paragraph mark, you can only display it (as a guide to the position of the end of a paragraph item in the RVF editor). If you do as Tim suggested, you won't get a space afte...

Re: Merge HTML files into HMX and able to compile into CHM/P

1. Using #Merge in "Insert | Plain HTML Code", it works but I can only compile CHM file. I can't compile PDF/RTF with this way. Hi ccy, There are ways of using individual HTML topic files and compiling to PDF and print. 1. For multiple topics: File > Import... > "Regular HTML and tex...

By its very nature all Flash memory has a limited number of read/write cycles. Hi Tim, That's true. But the number is in the millions, and for me is far outweighed in reliability comparisons by the fact that it has no moving parts. All I can say is that I have several CF cards here which I use regu...

Make backups of your work at least once a day on a separate data medium -- at the very least on a second hard disk. Hi Fay, Much the easiest, simplest and most reliable day-to-day backup is to use a CF card. A 256MB or 512MB CF card is no longer expensive. Bung it in your computer's card reader slo...

Hi Dean,

In the File > Save As... dialog. If you select .bmp as the file type, an option
combobox appears. There are some other options for other file types.

Re: Search in HTML Help is not finding all terms

When I search on this phrase Hi Tina, If you are referring to Browser-based Help, phrase searching is not available. You can search only for individual words. This is because the search function builds an index of all the words in your output. When you do a search it refers to the index, it doesn't...

Re: Shortcut to apply last style

So if I'm appying styles, I select some text, go to the drop-down to select the style Hi Albert, No need to go to the drop-down -- you can give all your most frequently used styles each their own shortcut. Format > Edit Styles... > Shortcut: It would be good if the drop-down showed the shortcuts. B...

I don't want the "+" and I'm not sure what extra formatting it is referring to. Hi Albert, The purpose of the "+" is a mystery to me. It is intended to signal the presence of manual formatting, although what you are intended to do about it when you see it I've no idea. Possibly ...

Re: Styles question - stop changing boldness

when I apply the "Normal" style, it removes the bold text. I don't want it to do this. I can't figure out how to edit this style so it doesn't change the "boldness" when I apply the style. Hi Albert, What you describe happens if you select (highlight) text before applying a styl...

For example, it's not possible to define the space between the text and the callout balloons of the graphical captions in the program. Hi Tim, You could try Camtasia! You can copy and paste callout text straight from H&M with all margins, paragraph spacing and formatting intact. Prepare, edit a...
