Hi Hasso, You're absolutely right, of course. At the time I started using H&M I didn't know how to edit the topic template and so did the quick-and-dirty fix of putting in the extra Return at the end. That leaves me with a backlog of projects and topics that I would have to edit in order to get ...

Hi Tim, I'm afraid that manual formatting changes have the same effect as style changes. They do create a break and text will wrap at any break. For example, if you use Ctrl+B to bold the last word in a sentence but do not include the period (stop) at the end, the line could wrap between the word an...

blank page in PDF

I always put a blank line at the end of each topic (press Enter once to create a single empty paragraph) so there will be a little white space between the last line of text and the bottom browser frame in HTML/BB outputs. This has created a problem in PDF output: a blank page. I have a topic that ju...

Hi Rolo, Do you mean the right margin on all pages? Or do you really mean to indent all paragraphs within the right margin? And is this for all outputs or only for PDF or CHM or some other format? If what you want to do is move your right margin in PDF output, you do this in the Print Manual Designe...

Hi Dan, You should add your request to the wish list. That way it won't get overlooked the next time the developers are deciding what to add. It might get passed over, but at least it won't be overlooked... This one may already be in the wish list in fact. If it is, add a post of support. The...

Tim, Would there be an advantage to using a video or Flash instead of the PowerPoint file? You would still need to use a file link and include the source presentation, but I would think you might find that more users can play the show, unless you're shipping a .pps file that includes the PowerPoint ...

I can agree with this one. I got caught by it just the other day. New rule of thumb for me: don't compile the PDF first.

Now, if I only could add a list of keywords, and H&M would automatically add all pages where those words or phrases are seen, it would be perfect... Hi Tomas, The problem with using a list of keywords this way is that some of the instances will not be important (for example, a list of program f...

Add a TAB mechanism to Comment dialog

Please add some mechanism for using the keyboard to move from field to field in the Comment dialog. Perhaps Ctrl+TAB? I would like to be able to type my comment and then move to the Icon Only checkbox and then to the OK button without having to use the mouse.

Thanks,
Dean

This is not the current build, however -- it's also present in 1138, so it has probably been around for a while. Oops - a typo: I meant 1211. But I believe you're right that it's not new. I'm sure I noticed it earlier but didn't bother to test it further at the time. Obviously it's not a show-stopp...

How to move through Comment dialog without mouse?

Hi Tim, Is there a way to jump from the text block in a Comment to the Icon Only check box and then to the OK button? The text block allows Tabs, and neither Ctrl+Tab or Shift+Tab do more than Tab. I have been using comments a lot recently and always prefer to have them display as Icon Only. I hate ...

Adding conditional when selecting text right to left

I added a conditional tag around some words. Then I selected the next few words of text and added another conditional tag. If I select the next word string from left to right by clicking just past the End tag and using shift-click at the end of my string, there is no problem. However, if I select th...

Sigh...at home I still have dial-up only. Oh, to live in a civilized country! :x

But Coda does look like a good editor, even if I never use such fancy animations myself. Thanks for the reference. :)

Seeking HTML/CSS editor for Mac OS X

Hello all, I have been using Homesite to edit HTML files when using Windows, but I also work on a Macintosh OS X system. Can anyone recommend an inexpensive (perhaps free) HTML editor that is similar to Homesite? Snowmonkey looks interesting, but I haven't been able to find any online documentation ...
