Thanks for the replies. The only topic I was able to find was THIS one. But it doesn't say anything about needing another licence. It will be only me using it - but if I can only use a laptop, it could be a bit of a problem, as I don't have one (yes, those keyboards are annoying sometimes). If it me...

Using H&M at work and at home

Hello all I saw this on the H&M3 forum, but wasn't 100% certain that it still applies to H&M4 as well. I want to use H&M at home as well. I will only be working on the file from either work or at home (so it won't be accessed at the same time) Will I need another license for H&M4? Or...

Tim,

You're an absolute star!!
Thank you very much!

It's "Working as intended" now :)

I knew there was a less complicated way of getting it to work.

~wipes brow~
Thanks again

Just had another thought (yes... on a MONDAY??)

Tried to play around a bit with the hyperlinks and found that instead of text you can have images. (WOO HOO!!)

It works fine - but unfortunately it still doesn't show the page referrers :(

Back to the drawing board.

Page Referrers for Hotspots in PDF

Hello again My latest 'idea' on my help file is to have images from our software with hotspots instead of just a table of hyperlinks. This looks and works really well on the .chm bit of it, and also when you view the PDF. But, unfortunately the printed manual does not have the page referrers on thos...

Tim,

I sent the project file.
I guess I found a way into the Twilight Zone. :)

. Have you manually changed the <%DOCTYPE%> variable at the beginning of your HTML template, replacing it with an explicit doctype statement? I Sorry Tim, I think I may be having a really blonde moment there. Only thing I've changed on this help file was add an automatic RES_ in the beginning of th...

Progress! I just added a new window using the "Project > Project Properties... > Help Windows > Main > Add window button" option. (sorry, didn't try it before.. silly me) and it works fine now! Thanks again Tim and Martin. I guess taking shortcuts sometimes isn't the shortest route. DOH!

Tim, Thank you again for your quick response. I made the second bit of the table smaller, but the same thing happens. I've taken some screenshots (I hope they're not too big).. of the 'before' and 'after'. All I did was delete the text in the topic header, and nothing else. I just tried the same thi...

AARGHH!! Typical! As soon as I sent the query to ec-software, I found my problem! I delete all text from the topic header, and for some reason if there is no text, it puts everything on the left. Is this a bug or a User Error  ? This makes me ask the next question.. how do I get rid of the top...

Tim, Thank you for your reply. I can't seem to find anything that is set different on this page than on the other help files I have. It does the same to the logo as well - so everything on the page. I will send it off to ecsoftware. And I'll update here when I get an answer back. Thank you again for...

Home Page not Centered in .chm

Hello again everyone, I think I managed to break my help file :( It worked fine this morning, but I had a table on the front page (my home page) that was centered as well as the logo. I had to do some changes within the table etc. Everything looks fine in H&M and I can't see anything that's left...

I'll jump in here (anybody - correct me if I'm wrong)

I use manual page breaks and that works great on my PDF manuals.
Just right click on the screen that you want split, and select Insert>Manual Page Break.

I hope it works the way you want it. :)

Additional Settings for HHP file

Just a small suggestion. I have quite a few images in my Extended .HHP Settings (Project Properties > HTML Help > Extended .HHP Settings > Additional setting for the HHP file: ). More than is actually on view. How about having a scroll bar on the right of that screen to make scrolling down easier? T...
