Re: IPP File Format

The IPP files, however, cannot be thumbnailed. Hi Hans, While in Impict it's a good idea always to do Save As... and create a bmp, png or gif version of your image, using the same file name. It takes only a few extra seconds, and means you have a reference image which can be thumbnailed or opened i...

Re: Full text search

or is the full text search a kind of add-on? Can someone clear this up for me please? Hi Anna, For full text search in Browser Help you need a 3rd-party add-on such as Zoom. More about that in an excellent tutorial from Alexander at: http://helpman.it-authoring.com/viewtopic.php?t=2128 Martin.

PDF is for printing. Please don't make your users read PDF files on-screen.
It is a cruel punishment contravening the Geneva Convention.

Hi Alec,

The current version of Impict does save to gif, now that the gif patent has expired.
Upgrade to H&M 3.6 (free to registered users).

it's working fine here (Win98SE), dialog appears every time. But only, I now realise, if the image is a metafile. Not for bitmaps. Sorry to have misled you. Strangely, if you copy from PaintShopPro (PSP5), a metafile is what you get. I tried the same trick in WindowsXP and got some very odd ...

Sorry, Martin, cannot confirm your workaround. No dialog appearing... Hi Thorsten, :?: Sorry about that, it's working fine here (Win98SE), dialog appears every time. I just re-ran previous H&M (3.5.2.1031) with identical results. I often copy/paste from WordPad, which is why I couldn't un...

The dialog only appears if you paste an image with text Hi Tim, It depends where you are pasting from . Here's a work-around for images without text: 1. Have WordPad open (not Word) at a blank page. 2. Copy your image from wherever. 3. In WordPad do Ctrl-V, Ctrl-C, Delete. 4. In H&M do C...

I must say that I agree. I also very much prefer having a dialog appear so that I can always give an image a meaningful name and save it where I want to. :) Hi Tim, :?: In 3.6.0.1073 a "Save Image" dialog appears when I paste images or mixed text and images into a topic. What am I missing...

I'd say you'll be OK if you just use a spell checker configured for American English (e.g., "color" and "humor" rather than "colour" and "humour," etc.) Hi Tom, I think that is the easy bit. The difficulties are in the words which mean different things on eac...

referring to instructions and learning about the background are actually two different activities. Hi Tim, I have found that most of the how-to instructions can be conveyed in images, as numbered call-outs on screenshots. This leaves the words in between for the more detailed background information...

Re: Importing Flash in H&M and Width/Height Problem

The video creation is fine and I export it from Camtasia Studio with a size of 609x435. If I go to H&M and import the video, by default, it displays the file size as 610x436. Hi, Camtasia is displaying the maximum pixel index, H&M is displaying the number of pixels. There is always a 1 pixe...

So the source for the THelpRouter component is in my Delphi directory, however there are no instructions on how to install it. This seems to be an arcane subject and I was hoping for some guidance. Hi Paul, The best starting point is to open the EHS help file. On my Delphi5 system: ...\Program File...
