Re: Inserting htm page in HTML

Re: "I have yet to find a Visio SVG that imports correctly. Not HMs fault though."

It might be fixable.

@Tim I've sent you an example Visio SVG that H+M doesn't import correctly.

@Gerold Krommer perhaps you could send example(s) too...

Re: Inserting htm page in HTML

FYI Visio can export SVG images of pages, but I'm not sure H+M can import them faithfully. It's worth a try though:
  • It's easier than MERGE.
  • You can see the image in the editor.
  • It works in all output formats.

Re: Quotation marks for font-family in styles

We'll add this with the next update. Thanks as always. Would that fix the problem controlling the face used for popups etc? specify a fallback option for "72" in the CSS [screenshot] That makes sense, but isn't supported in an H+M 8.0 skin: you can only specify that at individual project ...

Quotation marks for font-family in styles

I'm experimenting with a font called "72" . This is failing because H+M doesn't put quotation marks around font names in default.css body, table, tr, th { font-size: 15px; font-family: 72; } I can fix this in the skin for the content area, but not the title or left-hand TOC etc. Is there a...

Tim Green wrote: Mon Jan 25, 2021 8:57 amWhy don't you just give it a try yourself?
Because if it didn't work, I wouldn't know whether it was because of my xplain and/or how it was embedded. Having a reference example from you would mitigate that risk.

Hi Tim

Do you have a demo or test ePub you can share with this feature? Or an updated version of the ePubConfiguration.hmxz example with an xplain in the baggage?

Thanks,
Simon

Re: PDF Links Do Not Open In New Tab in Browser

A lot of our quickstarts are PDF links on pages though, with the pdfs having links to external pages/other PDFs. How about putting the code for a PDF.js viewer onto your server and using it to display the PDFs in a new tab? You can download a prebuilt copy from http://mozilla.github.io/pdf.js/getti...

Re: PDF template has me bamboozled

I hope eventually to persuade the recipient of this project that web-based help makes more sense, but at the moment, only a printed manual will do. He's a bit of a control freak and is convinced that PDF is proof against unwanted random edits by other people, which is not true... Interesting point ...

Re: Indexing conundrum - child citations across several topics

I am sure that indexing will be one of the last professions to be affected by automation! Nice to see the Society of Indexers getting a mention here, I did a session with them a few centuries ago and was very impressed. Indexing for the least structured material, e.g. a political autobiography, wil...

There are a bunch of objects in my .mnl file that I need to change the font (from "Arial" to "Cambria") suing the Print Manual Designer. Is there an easy way to do this? That's described under "global font change" in the Manual designer help file. You can check it work...

That is the way it should :frustration: :naughty: be handled . Perhaps we're looking at this from different persectives? I was just suggesting something that might work, which apparently is legitimate in the current RFC If you're frustrated by the evolution of web standards, join the club (I ...
