OK. I think I have it figured out now. It makes a new copy of the image in the following scenario: Hi Phil, AH! I thought you meant your image was being replaced . I didn't realise you were referring to creating a duplicated image. In that case you are describing a known bug (right-clicking ...

When I tried clicking the "Open" button on the dialog reached using Picture/Properties, it loaded a fresh copy of the image. I concluded Open means Open on the Open Image dialog. I then used Edit, saw the same Open dialog, assumed the same dialog would act the same way, and did not bother...

Phil, as a p.s. to that -- if you have the Professional version of H&M you can edit an image caption directly in the XML Source Code tab. This allows you to do search and replace on the captions (which you can't do in the normal topic pane or in the Open Image dialog). The caption is contained i...

It isn't exactly clear from your note exactly what you expect H&M to do to fix the problem in the future. I would hope that one would be able to add both attributes to the image via an editable image property sheet. Hi Phil, I'm not EC Software, I'm an end user, so I don't know what the new int...

Re: Image Tooltips

Just today, I noticed that when the mouse hovers over an image in a topic, an ugly tooltip appears with the filename of the image. (Basically, giibberish to a user of my help). Is there a way to delete this nuisance? Hi Phil, Go to Project > Project Properties... > HTML Help > HTML Export Options >...

Re: Imported Tables from Word - How Centre and Format in bul

I have several Word files that I am moving into Help & Manual. The great number of tables I have in the Word documents are centred on the page and have a yellow background in Word. Hi Syd, You didn't say how you are getting the Word files into H&M. I have found the best way is to save your ...

You can achieve what you want to do by editing the XML output but only with an editor that shows all the XML tags, does not arbitrarily adjust your XML code and allows you to do search and replace on the tag level. I use the excellent NoteTab Pro text editor from Eric Fookes. ( http://www.notetab.c...

Hi Charles,

Yes, if they are still in the output folder, they will be indexed. Try using the option to clear the output folder before each compilation.

The only effective way to guard against data loss is to backup your data regularly on an external medium. The problem there is the sheer hassle of doing it and remembering to do it. So I have changed to using an online backup service. It's not cheap, but once you have installed the software it does...

sounds simple - but I dont really understand it :-( Hi Anja, And I'm sorry, I don't really understand why you need it as a file? :? The topic file name is the topicID string (in lower case), with .htm extension. If you need it as a file list, write lines to a file as in my previous message. There a...

Hi,

Create your file like this:

Code: Select all

t1+'='+LowerCase(t1)+'.htm'
t2+'='+LowerCase(t2)+'.htm'
....
etc.

Regarding having anchors on their own line: I don't want an extra blank line in the output. Hi Dean, Set the para and font size for the line with the anchor to 1px -- it will barely notice. Regarding the term "anchor," I like to think of the link as a chain, with an anchor on the end hold...

Thanks very much for your response. So, the license agreement for the evaluation software is the exact same as for the purchased versions of the products? Re: End User License Agreement

My company is considering the purchase of Help and Manual but we need to review a license agreement before we can make our decision. Is there any way to get a copy of this agreement for both the standard and professional versions? Hi Sara, Just download the evaluation version and run it. The licenc...

For example: Table 3. Measurements -> (Table Number. Table Caption) Hi, You can embed one table inside another. Your outer table would have two cells, in a single column. In one cell you would enter the table caption. In the other cell you would insert your main table. But the easiest solution woul...
