Removing Conditionals From Project

I have an H&M 6 project that has a lot of conditionals, both within text, and at the topic level, which allows me to use the same project for the documentation to versions 1, 2 and 3 of my software. But, now, version 1 and 2 of my software are being terminated, and all the v.1 and v.2 conditiona...

**URGENT** HM6 Suddenly Going Into Expired Trial Mode

I have been using a registered and activated copy of HM6 since November with no problems. Then, suddenly, last night, shortly after midnight, it told me that my trial period was over (it was not a trial version and no previous such messages ever appeared). I tried to reactivate and the activation wa...

Problem with import of HTML files

I have migrated a project from HM4 to HM6 in which I regularly import HTML files. It seems that HM6 is not converting HTML codes such as &#149 (to display • a bullet). The result is now a question mark ? instead. It was working fine in HM4. Should I start working around this problem ? Or is it o...

Re: HM5 -> HM6 : Blank Topics

This sync-ing of files might be useful for documentatinalists, but when H&M is used to document software it is imperative that one can get control over timestamps of subjects, so that spurious cosmetic changes do not lead one to believe that the documentation was updated more recently than a giv...

Re: HM5 -> HM6 : Blank Topics

Thank you Tim. I have gone through my tweaks and have been able to re-generate CHM and Webhelp outputs to my satisfaction. But I really loathe/hate/despise this new UI where "anything can be anywhere" :frustration: . It does look nice, but give me back a nice orderly set of menus any day. ...

Re: HM5 -> HM6 : Blank Topics

Hello Tim, When I try to whittle down the project to something more manageable, then the topic bodies do re-appear, but without any scrollbars and positioned weirdly vertically. I changed HTML Page Template last in H&M 4 (or could have been H&M 3) to include breadcrumbs and have not touched ...

HM5 -> HM6 : Blank Topics

I have tried to use HM6 to generate the CHM of my main help project (currently under HM5). Generation seems to proceed OK, but the resulting CHM has blank topic bodies. That is to say: • The TOC is fine • The header of each topic (including breadcrumbs) is fine But all topic bodies are blank (actual...

Hi Tim,

Bad news ... I'm still on Windows XP ... trying to hold-out as long as possible.
Very best regards,

Olivier

CHM Search List Empty ... Sometimes

Hello, When I use HM5 generate any project in CHM format (even basic new projects)) on my desktop, the resulting CHM file's "Search" tab is empty and trying to search for any text returns a message "No Topics Found". • But if I generate the CHM from an "identical" setup...

Re: PDF Internal Links Broken

Hi Tim, I found the problem with the PDF output in HM5. It comes from the program I had to write to post-process the PDF. Seems the structure of the generated PDf changed from 4 to 5 and my program was messing-up something. The post-processing was needed because HM4 did not include TOC entries in th...

Yes, I do (see attached HTML template).
Note that Browser-based export works fine; the index problem is only in CHM files.

Re: CHM Multi-Topic Index All "UNTITLED"

Hi Tim, It's basically an HM2 project which was upgraded to HM3 and then HM4 and then HM5 with very few new features (tables, different build settings, and conditional text). I do use the option to replace dead links by plain text, as I have a lot of dead links (over a hundred) due to separate build...
